When I said you it wasn't you personally.
Are you intending to stay there or is it a transitional thing?"If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

if they did then they would get a greater respect from the average person in the street, and may have a good chance of getting their vote if they were 'undecided'
Exactly my sentiment.
If a polition concentrated on their own positive policies and stayed away from negative campaigning they would get a lot more respect.
I'd much rather they made comments akin to
"I'm not here to talk about the other parties policies, I'd like to concentrate on our own policies and defining the benefits we see in our decision to include in our manifesto.
The Great Britain public will then be able to make an informed decision on what is best for the UK"
If the journalists pressed for negative comments on other party policies, I'd prefer they steered them back on to their own policies i.e.
"I'm not here to talk about other party policies or give my personal opinion on whether they provide a benefit or are a detriment to the country.
The voters can reflect on that themselves.
What I'd like to do is take this time to communicate what we believe is a better alternative policy"
If poiliticians gave respect, they'd more likely receive greater respect from the majority.:wall:
What we've got here is....... failure to communicate.
Some men you just can't reach.

Unfortunately that would require people to think and debate properly. Rather than reading prepapared PR speeches. Which covers their complete ineptitude on the topic they've been rolled in front of the media to discuss.0 -

Your point being..........
Surely this would be better than the current "political debates"
Sure, I can understand that politicians need to "tow the party line".
I understand that you need to provide a party stance and show unity, but still you can positively concentrate on your own policies.:wall:

And as for today's omnishambles over the leaked broken promises cover up.... wel.. for once... I just dont know what to say.... except ... gobsmacked!
67% believing that they will lose to Labour is a recognition of the depths of ignorance, stupidity, short-termism, and self indulgence that are characteristic of huge swathes of the electorate.No-one would remember the Good Samaritan if he'd only had good intentions. He had money as well.
The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money.

they can do once there is money in the pot to reduce corporation tax and the tories slash worker protection to the bone.
Why bother, none of the big corporations pay it anyway. I read somewhere that only something like 34% of UK companies actually pay corporation tax . God knows where the tax take is actually going to come from once all the UK companies that do pay tax are forced to close down because they can't compete with the big bully boys who don't pay tax (Amazon, Starbucks, Google etc). Why does Osbourne place so much importance on sycophantically licking their !!!!!! when they aren't really providing any benefit to the UK financially and will cost us more in the long run in lost jobs in uncompetitive UK companies that aren't replaced by the tax dodging ones?0 -

I guess the point is they are would just be stonewalling all the time."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

Or it is recognition of how badly they are doing in sorting out all the issues you think conservatives should be dealing with and at the same time communicating what they have done badly, costing money to achieve little savings, creating a lot of collateral damage in the process, whilst leaving the real targets unaffected..
No different to any party really."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....
