Making cash from online survey sites - new MSE guide

Good one.
I had a brief browse and I don't have any suitable hats to wear for those I saw. But maybe I can fit with something in the future. I have done some similar interviews which paid well. A couple had bad pre-screening questions, so I had to wing it when the questions got to some depth, but I still got paid!
Do you do other more general survey sites? IMHO it's a whole industry geared to paying the least for maximum data and no regard to those contributing. Time for a change!

Has anyone compared the hourly remuneration of doing online surveys vs user testing?0
-
I haven't, but wouldn't you have to factor in the use of or keeping the product?

Try Qmee. Get paid via paypal. Had a good run with them last year but the surveys dried up so stop this year. Now that swagbucks payout are rubbish, I might go back to Qmee. The £1408 was earn in about 1.5 years if anyone is asking.1

I also have had a good payout from Qmee.
But it's not without me biting my lip through the many and frequent rejections!
It feels something like a turkey shoot, seemingly endlessly accepting a survey and within a question or ten I am dropped like a hot brick!
I daren't try to equate the payout with the time that I have spent (wasted?). But at least I can do it whilst I watch TV. Until maybe I get properly accepted by a survey, then I focus on it.
So in the long run, though I may complain now and then, it's good.

I might not go that far. But least we should be compensated for what we do, regardless whether it is worthwhile for the provider. At the moment we only get paid if what information we have is useful. If it's not then that is not our problem, but we have spent our time giving it and that should be compensated.1

WARNING TO EVERYONE USING SURVEY SITES. I have be using these sites for a while now and yes you can earn, some are better than others but MOST of them at some point will rip you off not only farming your information, not paying you for long surveys etc etc But even if you have been with them for a while they will lock you out of your account when you are due a payment. The ones that claim to pass on points to charity are lying further investigation will show that they are not registered to do that which means the money goes in their pocket. Also, they have people set up on sites like site jabber, Trustpilot and even survey police to post fake reviews so do full research. My best and my personal advice would be to just stay a month or two earn and cash in as soon as its possible and move on. These companies are based in India not UK or USA, so those group company pictures are not real, not much is.
If you are ripped off the best and only way to get your own back is reviews, reviews review, that's where it will hurt, but don't waste time because there is nothing you can do about getting money you have earned back - so as it says in the guide don't build up too much, cash up and move on. You can also report them to scam investigation sites, some of whom will investigate and will involve police in some cases. Good Luck everyone.0 -
The best thing to do is not allow your points to build up too much in any of the sites and always cash out at the minimum required.

Its not all negative. Using these sites I managed to give my family a decent Christmas, save a little towards my bills and buy school supply's However, these people are making a fortune from our time and data, just like the supermarkets with the club cards. All you can do is plow through. If anyone knows of a site where we can share tips and get support I would love to know, its all a bit wild west out there.1
