Wizz air will fly you there from luton
No they fly to Katowice, which is about 70 miles away and has poor public transport connections compared with Krakow Airport which has many frequent and inexpensive bus and train links. Katowice Airport isn't even close to the city of Katowice anyway, there are only hourly buses to Katowice which take 40 minutes to get to Katowice Railway Station. Then it takes at least an hour to get to Krakow itself by train.

Remember, with Wizzair you must pay to take a trolley case on board; only a small briefcase/rucksack can be taken for free which isn't adequate for a weekend trip to a place which is often -10 degrees in January/February.

Overall, it would have to be a significant difference in fares to make it worthwhile using Wizzair to Katowice instead of Ryanair to Krakow.

Btw I used Wizzair (to Warsaw) and it has made me look forward to taking a Ryanair flight. Not only was the plane delayed by 30 minutes (no explanation or apology given, the weather was fine at both ends and all Ryanair flights to/from the UK/Poland were on time), but I've never experienced such cramped seating in my life. Ryanair is quite tight, but Wizzair takes it to another level! The garish pink cabin only made the experience more miserable.

Okay, well there is a direct bus from Katowice Airport, but it takes 2 hours (assuming no traffic jams). That's only just shorter (by 15 minutes) than the flight itself!

I spent part of my honeymoon in Krakow and absolutely loved it. I found it v cheap, especially places down the side roads but you may need your phrase book to decipher the menu!

A bit of a tangent, but I've flown Wizz to Wroclaw in December (and am again next week) and found the cabin far less garish and the seating more comfortable than Ryanair! I was also able to fit everything I needed into a small rucksack with room to spare, but I did wear my fleece, coat, hat and snow boots when boarding at Doncaster :rotfl: Their flight time is also 20 minutes quicker than Ryanair's. I came back on Ryanair to East Midlands and a Wizz flight leaving for Luton shortly before was delayed by the snow by about 45 minutes but my Ryanair flight was delayed nearly two hours. As budget airlines go there's not much between them IMO.

But yeah, don't use Wizz for Krakow. Use Skyscanner to help try and find a good deal. March is probably a good time, before the holiday season starts so you can get good deals on flights and hotels. Use several hotel comparison sites not just one (I think the Ryanair website can scrape several) as prices and range can differ. With Hotels.com you can get 15% Quidco this week.
