Do you have a Nokia 7600? Read on...

I'm having some problems with my Nokia 7600 and I was just wondering if anyone else has been experiencing any of the same problems with their phone.

My phone is unlocked and I use a T-Mobile sim in it. The last two weeks whenever I tried to make any phone calls, the message 'error in connection' kept appearing. Also whenever anyone tried to phone me, they kept getting 'the mobile phone you trying to ring is currently unavailable'.
I tried my Virgin sim in the phone afterwards and it seemed to be working fine.

But I know that there isn't anything wrong with my T-mobile sim because when I put it in my Nokia 3310, it was working.

Another problem I've been having is that ever since I started using my Nokia 7600, my voicemail (for T-mobile) has stopped working. It doesn't even matter which phone I put the sim card in, it still doesn't work. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can solve this problem?

My 7600 is working fine now but I can't help but wonder if it will have the same problems again some time soon.

It doesn't seem to be straightforward unlocking these. Read this other thread (there's mention of dropping signal), and wait for drahcir and Browntoa to reply

  • This subject came up several times in other threads... from my previous reply, you'd need to do a factory reset. BTW I am in no way connected to the company on the link, but have used them personally and they were good.

"Just a word of warning if your phone doesn't seem to function properly. I bought 2 units of 7600 locked on 3 and they didn't work properly on Orange after a simple code unlock. Apparently the phone is progammed to look for a for a 3G network first!

"Error in connection" is usually a network problem - perhaps T-Mobile gave the site a reset & it's now OK?

As for the vmail, check your diverts are correct?
  • Me and the bulk of my family and extended family use the 7600 Unlocked by myself via calculator - Occasionally you'll get a message please enter unlock code or something, but you just power off + on and then it goes away.

You sure you unlocked it right?

this is just caused by the phone locking on to a 3g signal, the phon is set to do it by default

If you d the full factory reset with the cable and Fbus by Maestro software then you can set the phone to stay locked to GSM networks and you will no longer get the message
