Hi, ordered this crib the other day. Was going to order from Argos but thought I'd have another quick look around and amazon had dropped it to £40, it's £60 on Argos. It looks ideal, as we are going to hold off on getting a cot for the first 6 months-unless we have a big baby! And our stairs in our new house are very steep so didn't want to be lugging the moses basket up and down.

Never ever EVER carry a baby in a Moses basket down the stairs! Regardless of how steep the stairs are. You'd be surprised how common it is for moses basket straps to break - my aunt is a nurse and has seen loads of injured babies turn up in hospital because of that.
Don't mean to rant, but wanted to pass that on, I know you said you didn't want to do it anyway.
Lovely looking crib by the way."Why, this is hell, nor am I out of it."0 -
Aw lovely crib!
I don't think dippy meant that she was going to carry the baby in the moses basket - just that she didn't want to have to carry the moses basket up and down the stairs - probably for bed time and I assume she meant separately from the baby. That's good advice though! Some people may not have thought about the safety issue of carrying a baby in the moses basket.

Yeah sorry dippy, hope I didn't come across as patronising. It was a piece of advice that stuck with me as my aunt told me it just before my DD was born, it gave me nightmares of her falling down the stairs for weeks!
For what it's worth, I know someone who used to put her baby in the laundry basket and carry her down in it while sliding down the stairs on her bum. Very bizarre..."Why, this is hell, nor am I out of it."0 -

Nah, it was good advice!
Hehe! That is a different technique! Luckily I don't have stairs in my flat - although I will probably end up having dreams about putting the baby in a drawer and leaving it there or something :rotfl:0 -
