Can anyone please recommend a pram? its my first baby and I have no idea.
I would like a travel system and the baby to face me, I dont currently drive so I would be walking everywhere. I currently have the Silver Cross 3D on order but the reviews are mixed.
I dont have any pregnant friends or new mums so no one to ask advice from. Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated TIA :) x

Hi Buffy, having asked this question myself I had the M&P sola which I love & still use with my 2 year old. It is great for out & about - was ok in the snow & good around the rugby pitch.
However I also own a quinny zapp which flods into the worlds smallest buggy. The frame takes a car seat, if you go for the xtra it does recline and face both ways (but does take up more space, but with a newborn it would be worth it).
To be honest I wouldn't be without either. The zapp is perfect for around town & fits well between the rails in the shops, but is not so good off road. I wish I'd gone for 2 buggies originally as I struggled with the sola in the car & in shops for a long time before I thought to try another one. It is really difficult (expensive) to get one buggy that does everything, but if you are able to have 2 I would recommend it. Might be worth keeping an eye on ebay for a good second hand one.
I think the petit star zia is similar to the zapp so would also be worth looking at.

a few months back mothercare had the black n silver on sale think it was 25% off but then there was an extra 20% code off to which brought the price right down.

Really great buy as the baby bounces himself and will suit him/her from birth till 18months +
    Wins so far:
£1,800, campari platter, limited edition peroni bottle opener, sharp blu ray player, £600 Karen Millen shopping spree, £550 limited edition blind, Capetown 7 day holiday, Tshirt, £100 Tesco Voucher, £100 Arcadia vouchers, 7 day Europe tour, £100 hotel voucher, limited edition capitan morgan bottle, 1 month bus pass travel.

I chose the silver cross 3d travel system for my daughter when she was a baby and I must admit buying a buggy has to be one of the most confusing purchases you will make.

There is good points and bad points. This is very much a heavy duty buggy, its well built, solid and sturdy but this means it's very weighty. Great in winter, it handles snow and ice with ease and off road such as round parks up to the lake to feed the ducks etc. Uphill was a struggle for me and I was quite fit and did alot of exercise so do not underestimate how heavy it is. Collapsing it is tricky, if your doing it everyday you will probably get the knack of it. It takes up alot of space, in a Ford Focus takes up the entire boot, we had problems opening it the hallway and moving it out of the house due to space and had to get her in outside after it was set up which was a bit of a pain. It also is a bit difficult to steer, not one to take into small aisled shops or ones with rails close together it could be a bit tricky.

Despite the downfalls, it did the job, my daughter was safe and secure and many other high tech buggies looked like willpower alone is keeping your child safely in there so I felt better the devil you know. If I was to choose one now I would say space saving would be most important as I have a car and small hallway and one that is lightweight so a Quinny Zapp or similar would be perfect.
    Comping wishlist for 2017
    1. Family holiday 2. Christmas presents :rudolf: 3. Fishing stuff

i had the silvercross 3d for my first and i hated it and everyone else i know who has had one hated it to. i know they have adjusted it since i had it but i still wouldnt recommend it. i had the babystyle oyster this time around and my son it 8 months now so been using it since then and i love it, soo easy to use and light weight. the m+p sola is very similar but comparing the both the hindges on the oyster looked safer and sturdier. its a good price to for the oyster compared to most pushchairs i cant fault it at all :) hope this helps x

i love my mclaren xlr.yes baby doesnt face but u can buy those cots that go into the pram and baby faces. This is the pram that everyone converts to when they have been through 2 or 3 prams. why do that when you can use from day 1. Im glad i listened to all my friends. Im now using it for baby 2. Still going strong after 2.5 years.
  • We looked everywhere for the best price for a Maxi Cosi Cabriofix car seat. RRp £125 saw Kiddicare and Mohercare had it for £89.99. Popped into Halfords and got it without box for £75. Might be worth a look
  • Petite star bubble is excellent I think, parent facing then can be forward facing when baby is older

iCandy peach jogger is a great pram. Forward and rear facing. Rubber wheels to help when walking on any type of terrain. I outdid all my Mummy friends when it snowed as when they were stuck in my pram coped remarkably well and we got out:j It's a joy to push and has a large shopping basket too.
