Samsung S2 warranty repair no original sales receipt

Hi. I've booked my samsung S2 in for a warranty repair. I am not the original owner. The phone has a 2 year warranty and is a uk model. This model has only been manufactured for 17 months. I'm also aware that they can tell how old it is from the IMEI and serial number. The guy wanted me to email the original owner for a copy of the recieipt and said it would be up to the engineer whether they would repair without it. Has anyone been in this situation with Samsung? Will they go ahead with the repair? I do have the paypal receipt but don't want to prove I'm not the original owner if you know what I mean....so I'm not sure whether to send it with the phone.... Thanks!!

paypal recipt wont doDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Thanks. Yes I saw that thread. It doesn't seem conclusive though. I was wondering if anyone had actually used the phone warranty without receipt. There must be quite a few out there...0

I know that HTC will repair a phone without the receipt, even if they say to include it in their emails.

I have the same problem with my s3 got the sudden death today on it cant find my receipt tho do you think a copy of the bank statement with the transaction would do0

I had similar with my daughters Galaxy Note which I bought off someone on hot uk deals. I had no receipt. Phoned them and gave IMEI and handset number. Next day received special delivey envelope and 2 days later fixed handset returned via special delivery.
Had similar with Blackberry who would not do a repair.0 -
