  • This is my spiritual home.

This weekend i bought a feather duster and a sponge mop. I thought I would clean the wood floors and the kitchen floor. I haven't cleaned them since i moved in. In 2007.

Also, where in the manual does it say you have to clean the oven?

You're over the four year period, after which Quentin Crisp reckons the dust won't get any worse. Leave it alone!!!

I cant cope with the housework at the moment so what few ornaments ive got have been bunged in a cupboard. At least I don't have to look at them gathering dust.:D

    I hate ornaments.

The ornaments are still bunged in the cupboard. Anyone got any ideas as to where I can hide the two small coffee tables in the living room?

I find that i can camouflage then with post, cups, books, a computer, the odd sock or three and other assortments. Also keep a can of polish and duster on them and visitors will assume you were just in the middle of a clean and had dumped stuff on the table while you cleaned under things

    Love this thread!

Does having dust on the hoover qualify me to be a sloblady? I recall taking the plug off the iron several years ago, and have no idea if the ironing board is still here!

My daughter took my ironing board with her when she moved out 2 years ago. I never asked for it back.

Brilliant idea however, a little bird whispered in my ear to buy smaller coffee tables.....

I forgot to say, I did clean an oven. I was helping a friend move home, and part of his leaving involved cleaning the oven and hob. I did the oven. All by myself.

The landlords wrote a letter saying it hadn't been done and they would deduct the cleaning cost from the deposit. I argued until they backed down, but it's obviously not my forte, and therefore not to be done again.
Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....
