I have a confession to make.................yesterday I took the screw out of the center of the plug hole thingy in the kitchen sink - well I ended up taking both plug hole thingies out ( one of those one and a half sink affairs which I have never really understood!).......what I thought was a a piece of mushroom stuck down there turned out to be something that would win a BAFTA for best special FX - I am sure it had a life all of its own. So spent 20 mins poking out 15 years of accumulated dregs which led on to clearing out cupboard underneath. Here I managed to decant 6 bottles of various colours and flavours of Fl@sh into just 2 - by my reckoning they all do the same thing no matter what colour or pongSo an hour now into cleaning something I had no intention of doing which started with the need to wash up the day before's pans, I decide to get on with making tea - lasagna easy enough - reach for the plain flour to make white sauce and was showered with dozens of little bugs - look in cupboard and place is crawling with weevils  Now I am not squeamish and I had noticed one or two 'beetles' crawling about the last couple of days ( live in an old house in rural setting with lots of nooks and crannies so wildlife goes with the territory) But even I had to deal with this pronto! 3 hours later and all my lovely sealed in date organic flour ( taking organic to the extreme I think) had been binned along with most of the rest of the contents of my 'baking' cupboard. OH even took took cupboard off wall to vacuum the little blighters up
Dont want to open any other cupboards just in case!

I cant cope with the housework at the moment so what few ornaments ive got have been bunged in a cupboard. At least I don't have to look at them gathering dust.:D

I've been AWOL a long time, and back now under a different name. Just saying.
I woke up this morning with a head full of plans.
i was going to clean my house, tidy up, and have a good going over. Do some work in the garden and do some studying as well.
What happened?
It is now nearly 3 pm and I've done NOTHING!
Well lots of faffing..
I made little one breakfast, I made lentil soup for lunch, and that's about it! chats on the smartphone and facebook, looking up info here and there, reading some more because it's interesting, finding 25 recipe's for lentils, looking for important papers that are needed soon...
and the house is still a tip!
grrrrmppffff
AND it is blooming hot again, so I'm NOT, I repeat NOT going to work up a sweat now..
so there..0 -
I haven't had time to read the tread yet but noticed it the other day...brilliant idea, and the first page is hilarious.
Sorry if this has already been said before..........anyone else shoved the xmas tree back in it's box with all the lights and decorations on ?. In fact I have 4 xmas trees somewhere as a couple of years I was so lazy I couldn't be bothered to fight my way through the cupboard to get to the old ones.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -
My best friend puts a sheet over her tree and shoves it in the spare room until next December 15 when she takes the sheet off and hauls it out.0

What a good idea. Pity my house is too full to find a spare space for ours.0 -
My greatest fear is getting sick - my friend is in hospital with pneumonia at the moment... If I had to go into hospital I would seriously have to consider throwing a lit match behind me as I closed the door
I know it was a long time ago but I've just found this wonderful thread whilst my two year old trashes my lounge and this had me laughing so hard that I now have a coffee spillage along with toys in my lounge!
Keep up the great thread :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Looking around my lounge I think I fit right into this threadMust use my stash up!0

The first time I caught my dogs licking the floor in front of the cooker after I had just cooked pork chops I shooed them away and told them off.
I just let them get on with it now.:rotfl:This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I had to come back for a visit. I was looking at other threads and someone was asking for advice on how to stop dust gathering behind furniture, and how often you should clean behind the bed etc. I worked out mine was last done in 2010.
Last night, I rushed home, opened the cupboard and looked at the hoover. It wouldn't take ten minutes to do behind the bed. I looked at the hoover really hard.
Then I had an ice cream instead. Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....
