doubt it, loads of times you get the clicks when you've put hardly any petrol in. Think it's just a myth myself.
Hmmm I get that nearly ALL the time, so I can never tell where the first, second or third click is :confused:

I just thought it was a new thing they put on pumps for some stooopid reason, as I've never had trouble before, now though, the tank can be empty and I'm flipping clicking left right and centre!:rolleyes::rolleyes:

and you end up wiggling the pump around and putting it in and out before finally resting it just about in there and filling up? cos that's what happens to me.

LOL well I probably look like I'm doing a heck of a lot of wiggling and jiggling.....................and then I start getting annoyed with it, then embarrassed cos I'm clicking like mad and the only one in the garage doing it! :o

Maybe I'm too heavy handed, but I've filled tons of cars, motorbikes and vans............and never used to have this problem, haven't worked it out if it's a certain chain or not, but know I don't get the problem at the Asda pumps

My tank takes about 8 litres between the first click and actually full

That's 80 to 100 miles more before I need to stop again. When abroad, that might be far enough to reach somewhere to save £12 on the next tankful, like Luxembourg.

If you're talking about the petrol being cold so you get an incy bit more (:p) you'd best off getting it in the early morning as it's had all night to cool down. At the end of the day I imagine it may be warmer than normal :rotfl:

How much will it save you realistically? If you drive more sympathetically (easy acceleration and braking) you'll save far more than filling up with cold petrol in the early hours. ;)
