Delivery/waiting times for a new VW Polo 5 Door

Hi all!!

I'm new to all this so you all need to help!!

I've ordered a new vw polo 1.2 5 door flat black with added steering wheel upgrade and touch screen sat nav last Nov 12.

I think it should be delivered first week of march!

Has anyone else ordered a polo recently and could you tell me your wait times? Could it be done quicker maybe?

Sounds like your car will be a factory order because of the spec. Drop the steering wheel and nav and you'll probably get a stock one in a few weeks.

It's a combination of buyers wanting hi spec cars, demand for cars in markets such as China and manufacturer reduction in stocks and inventory that has caused the delay.

We bought a polo bluemotion 5 door last year took about 4 weeks with no extras

Exactly. Why want it early when March isn't far away.

Car before my current one was a 14 week wait ordered in November 2009. It arrived around 4th February as expected and I asked them to keep it until 1st March which they did.

Yes you're right, i would like a 13 plate.

It may have been quicker to order a car with no added spec but if im going to fork out £13K for a car id rather get everything i want on it

never had a VW before, and its my first new car..fingers crossed im not waiting too long into March then.

Apparently the ship carrying it from South Africa to Germany holds 1800 cars :S, no wonder it takes a while!

The Polo is built in Spain.

Wolfsburg plant in only Golf, Touran and Tiguan, plus Autostadt theme park, five-star hotel and new car collection centre.

But when you order a new VW you can have it delivered to Wolfsburg Autostadt - great place if you're into cars.

The 3 doors are built in Spain and the 5 doors in South Africa, it then gets shipped to Germany and then on from Germany to Grimsby.

Just having to wait a looooooong time
