  • Morning all, had a lovely time yesterday at the knit and stitch show with my mum (crafty crafty)

    9- rug for dd bedroom

10- decopage books for dd room

11- stocking and birth sampler for cousins baby

Wow Maria You have had a productive time this year - almost half way through your list after less than 3 months. I love your stockings - I love the way they look so different just by choosing different coloured backgrounds.
  • Maria - your stockings are beautiful, I can't stop looking at them!!! they really are lovely :) you are very talented xxx

Merfe - loving your cookie monster - what a cutie - and a fab list too xxx

welcome Jess - your blocks sound fun :)

I am still working hard on my (first ever) cross stitch-managing about an hour a day and reckon i'm probably about 1/3 done. Still enjoying it but the reverse side leaves a lot to be desired!!! lol!!!!

It's the front that will show not the back :D Have you got any photos of your progress so far? If you want to join in more cross stitch chat come and join the Cross Stitch Cafe group - you'll notice a lot of familiar names from this group as lots of us are members on both and we love to see pictures of what each other is stitching
  • Hi Soulie

Can I join you all please

My list will be a mix of various needlecrafts with cross stitching being the main one.

I don't want to commit myself now to which 13 projects I will work on (finish?) in 2013 as I know I will change my mind but here is my initial list.

    1. Stitcher's 12 Days of Christmas - started 10 11 12 to be finished 11 12 13
    2. The 12 Days of Christmas Stitchery UFO to be finished by end November 2013 (including making it into a banner for display) I'm stitching mine in red variegated thread rather than the multi colours shown in the photo
    3. Let's Sew (stitchalong Cross Stitch Cafe) Completed 05 02 13
    4. Thomas Stocking (Shepherd's Bush design)
    Charland Stocking (Shepherd's Bush design)
Both of the above to be cross stitched and made into stockings by the end of November
    5. Christmas Quilt to be finished - needs a bit more work on the applique then border, backing and quilting
    6. A Sampler Quilt made from a Jelly Roll - I've already made one of these and would love to do another in a different colour scheme; aiming to do a block a month as I did last time so the complete quilt won't be finished until 2014. Have decided to use Petite Odile Jelly Roll
    7. American Smooth cross stitch design
    8. Snowflakes by Bent Creek To be finished on 31 1 13 Cross stitching finished 17 01 13 but want to add the snowflake button on 31 1 13 Completed 31 1 13
    9. Cottage Garden Sampler by The Victoria Sampler
10 Wedding Ring Pillow by JBW Designs Needed for July
11 Quilt square on house theme - for end of March
12 Superheroes alphabet or name plaque
    13 Mother's Day card and bookmark Completed 1 3 13
14 Santa and Reindeer applique table runner UFO to be finished by Dec 2013
15 Sophie Cushion - AOY name in cross stitch then make into cushion by October 2013

Think it will be wonderful to see the variety of projects

Sorry for quoting myself - it's so much easier that retyping the list again :rotfl:
I've added 2 more projects making a total of 15 because my target is to complete at least 13 projects and some don't have deadlines in 2013.
I have completed the cross stitch centre for my quilt square (11) so just need to make the quilt square; I found a long standing UFO of Santa and Reindeer which is an applique table runner. Santa and his 8 reindeer have been bonded onto the background and now need blanket stitch around them so it's an easy project to pick up and put down when I just have a few spare minutes for stitching. I still like the design as much as I did when I first started it so would love to finish it for this Christmas.
I have also added a name cushion I need to complete - I made one for her sister so there is an expectation for this one. Plan to make it the birthday present. Cross stitched design is complete.
I need a session with the sewing machine but it won't be this weekend as we have lots of commitments.

Am loving seeing all the pics of different projects

And don't worry if you don't complete all of the 13, as long as the thread keeps you motivated, and you have done more than you maybe would have!

Thank you. Yeah I did but I can't remember what magazine the pattern was in off the top of my head (i can have a look tommorrow if you like :-)), would have either been the world of cross stitching or cross stitcher from the end of last year, a good place to look for cross stitch patterns is the making spot as it is linked to a couple of the magazines and you can download the pattern some of which are free, they also have knitting, crochet and paper crafts on there as well for anyone who is interested hth
