Exactly the same can be said for those who are, or become at some time disabled could it not?
The only difference is, you have a good idea of when you are going to 'get old', you have absolutely no idea of when you will become disabled.
And some of us are unlucky enough to become disabled before we have had a chance to work and contribute0 -
It's ok, we all understand, women must pay. The blokes that shag and run must be left to live their lives in peace, the women are the reason the UK is broke, they should have all benefits removed and be publicly flogged, their children must go to the workhouse.
Dear god, the reason benefits are paid is so that the children do not go without, and we need the young to keep on popping out babies, to support the older generation, of whom there are too many to support! Who pays for their pensions?
Oh dear god........so none of these "single" females have ever heard of contraception..........or is every child bore to a single female the result of an accident?
Yes flog them......that's the answer...........or perhaps just limit the amount of benefits you get for children which might make some people think before they have them, or continue to have more??
Since the UK's population is continuously growing and the public services are already at breaking point, lets keep encouraging more children to be born by paying people to have them.0 -
Please take off your rose tinted glasses and realise I'm not being a bigot, I'm simply living in the real world.
I don't vote Tory, or read the Daily Mail........I administer benefits and see on a day to day basis what actually goes on.
Not only are you a biggot, but you are a lying biggot.
As for 'administering benefits', I 'administer taxes' and I can tell you that far more money is lost to evasion, aggressive avoidance and subterfuge from big business and wealthy individuals than will ever be lost on benefits.
If the Government concentrated as much effort into stopping/preventing these practices, and prosecuting those who do it, as it does into destroying the lives of the low paid, sick and disabled, then there would be no deficit.[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.

...I'm simply living in the real world.
At the end of the day you are not thinking out of the box. Simples.I don't vote Tory, or read the Daily Mail........I administer benefits and see on a day to day basis what actually goes on.
You are jaded by your job and it is skewing your opinion. The majority of all single parents work, and 71% of those whose children are over 11 work.0 -

or maybe they thought they were in a long term relationship but the sperm donor didn't? I am a single parent, I have 3 daughters, I was married to their father for many years.Love many, trust few, learn to paddle your own canoe.
“Don’t have children if you can’t afford them” is the “Let them eat cake” of the 21st century. It doesn’t matter how children got here, they need and deserve to be fed.0 -

Where have I said everyone is a genuine claimant.
Not only are you a biggot, but you are a lying biggot.
What am I lying about?

Different issue and completely irrelevant
If the Government concentrated as much effort into stopping/preventing these practices, and prosecuting those who do it, as it does into destroying the lives of the low paid, sick and disabled, then there would be no deficit.
Yes I agree that more needs to be done to tackle the tax evasion and avoidance that goes on, but that's not the issue that's being discussed at the moment - it's about the fact that the welfare system can, to a lot of people, be overly generous and needs to be reformed.0 -

I'm certainly not jaded by my job, I'm using it to perform an educated opinion.
Can you show the figures regarding the majority of all single parents work?
The vast majority who do work though only work the bare minimum required to claim WTC.0 -

Did I mentioned anything to do with long-term relationships? What I said is the ones who are claiming benefits as a single person that continue to have children, while still apparently single. Your situation is the complete opposite of what my post was saying.0
