Isn't there a problem with the old enhanced police check?

Would you let your child be taken to someone else's home by a mum who might be holding a dark secret?

Come on, wake up, males and females alike abuse children in many ways - hence it is not acceptable today to put your child at risk of this happening.

DBS / CRB only show up crimes you've been convicted of.

I had no idea people had become so paranoid.

Children can't go to school with friends, or play at their house after school in case the friend's mum molests them?

    This is really sad.

It's just them, it's common practice here, although at times it seems we all work same days but I've taken many a friend in when they are off school sick as I'm on reduced hours due to ill health.

They help me with after school activities as I cannot drive.

It's pretty common here and I've never asked for a disclosure. In fact it's even been overnight for social occasions.

No they don't, they also disclose any investigations that may have been carried out, or if there is any intelligence about the person who may never have been convicted of anything.
Generally that info is gathered at a local level. Not being convicted is not the same as not being guilty.

Put it another way what guarantees would you have that it wouldn't happen?

Sorry but none of my grandchildren are allowed to do that. It is far too dangerous, in that it is better to be safe than sorry.

Because I am retired I am the first on call to be the family taxi service. I even pick up my eldest granddaughter from school who is 13! It was pretty common and accepted in Soham, even down to the local school caretaker. Poor Holly and Jessica for not being protected enough by their parents!
