OOH I shall look at that, thank you! I'd kinda put this on the backburner but at that price... :D

    Try https://www.lastminute.fr Dub-Akl €769 08/04-23/04 or https://www.e-travel.ie Dub-Akl €785 25/03-09/04
I'm sure there are plenty of other sites out there

That looks like a fantastic price - although presumably the DUB leg is a codeshare with BA as Malaysian don't fly to Dublin.

Thanks so much! How are you finding these dates btw, just trial and error?

Its weird because its Aer Lingus to Frankfurt, yet its more expensive to go direct from Frankfurt...
  • I use matrix.itasoftware.com which gives you a rough guide. Select nearby airports and calendar of lowest fares..
Then it's a question of finding a travel website that allows you to buy the ticket.

That's the weird world of airline pricing for you. Often it is cheaper to have a connecting flight into a hub than fly directly from there.

Ok thanks guys! I would be getting separate connecting flights from MAN - DUB then AKL - CHC. Is it possible to not use the connecting flight and buy another from MAN - Frankfurt for example?

No. If you don't turn up for the first leg (DUB-FRA) then they would count you as a no-show and cancel the whole ticket.

The question is whether the going via DUB is worth it when you add in the extra cost, time and inconvenience compared to flying a route such as MAN-DXB-AXL.
