  • Good morning everyone :)

Am still in shock at being back at work and feeling sorry for myself as this cold is driving me around the bend. I feel like I need to walk around with two tissues stuck up my nostrils!

Back into proper cooking routine now that the holidays are over so there is chicken and potato Thai curry in the slow cooker for dinner and home made soup in my lunch bag. Did a big shop on the way home last night and the freezer is full to bursting with meat bargains.

Ebaying starts again tonight as my clutter pile has increased again, though I have been ruthless in charity gifting/throwing away stuff we do not use and I managed to stop DH from buying yet another frying pan to cook steak as his Nick Nairn cookery school book stated we needed one. I told him we didn't and we couldn't afford steak anyway :rotfl:

Back to work I go, so will leave well wishes for sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep warm and safe and have a super day :)

Marie, so sorry to hear of your loss, hope your SIL can find the strength to cope over the days, its so difficult but amazing where it comes from as I am rapidly discovering!
Today DD has gone back to work, DS is still in bed but sneaked out in the middle of the night for a walk! Not sure what to get up to, should do some ironing and pop to see MIL, still cant face visiting FIL cos I know I will lose it, and he hasnt been told about Iain yet!

  • (((Marie))) I'm so sorry about your BiL xxx

    Jools, hope you're ok xxx

Lame Wolf, you are lovely xxx

Today I need to get on. House needs a good going over. Trying to potty train the toddler. He's 4 in April. He knows what to do. He just won't. Stubborn so & so.

All back at school now. It's the toddlers day off nursery today.

Right, I must get on. Find my mojo...!

    Take care all

    Love, hugs and spoons

Postie has just delivered a cheque from the pension company that was being a PITA las week, so will be able to settle the funeral bill next week when it comes, thank goodness! Was worrying where to find easily mobile money as I invested the money we inherited last year and its all tied up! Would have borrowed it from one of the mums till things were sorted, but hated the thought of that, not sure why but felt that I would be letting him down somehow not paying for the funeral myself!

Hi Jools, at least the financial side is being sorted, one less thing to worry about. Gives you more chance to concentrate on the important thing - you and your children.

    Morning All,
Getting on well today. Have thrown away the left over Xmas cake/mince pies. Have ordered loads of fruit and veg from Mr T last night, it arrives this afternoon. Determined to shift that 2 stone again. Did it once, so I can do it again:rotfl:Gone back to My fitness pal which worked last time. DD and I are starting swimming again next week too. Be good to strengthen my arm after the accident too.:T
Lunch is HM leek & Potato soup. Dinner will be a jacket potato and chilli
Jools When my Mamma died, I put all the bills on one credit card till I got the insurance money through, that way I had a record of it all as well. It can be a worry though.
Marie Sorry to hear about your BIL. ((((HUGS))))

Waiting for the post now, then I can go out.:)

    Hi all

I've finally succumbed to the cold that's doing the rounds; no idea if I picked it up in the supermarket, the pub, or if Mr LW brought the germs home. Mr LW's going to get some whisky at lunch time so that we can have proper hot toddies tonight.;)

Kezlou (((HUG))) I just read your post on yesterday's thread – yep, we seem to have quite a bit in common; only I'm ostracised because I chose not to have children at all. I agree about the wheelchair – they really seem to scare people off, don't they?:( Mind you, if Mr LW had let me put the knives on the wheels, like I wanted..... MWAHAHAHAHA:D:D:D
Ooh – we often cook together; it's much more fun, even if it started from necessity. He does all the stuff I can't manage any more;:A and on days he's working, he preps the stuff the night before and leaves it either in water or in bowls in the fridge as appropriate.:A I have a pot of root veggies in water in the kitchen, ready to do veg stew tonight.:o

Meanmarie I'm so sorry to hear about your SiL's OH; how horrible they have to have a post mortem, too. Coping vibes to all concerned.

Esmf I'm glad to hear that your OH is looking after your poor foot for you; I sympathise, I'm very squeamish, about most things medical, so I can understand you not wanting to view the damage.

Redruby our surgery opens at 07:00 some days; it's great, because if I'm due my 6-monthly meds review, Mr LW can take me before he has to leave for work. Hope DD got on alright.

Jools (((HUG))) Glad that cheque has come. I can see what you mean about paying for the funeral – I'd be the same, I think. Hang in there, mate.

JackieO good luck with all the workmen; I hope they do a good job, and clean up after themselves.

Mrs MH oh dear, you're having a trying time with potty training – wish I had something useful to say, but litter trays are a slightly different kettle of fish, I guess.:o

I need to put the BM on or there'll be no bread for Mr LW's lunch box tomorrow, so I'd better see to that before too much longer. Then I'll be dusting round the larger ornaments, as I can no longer lift them, even with both hands.Coffee first though, methinks.;) I need my caffeine!:D
