Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 8th January 2013 - . This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Good morning all,
Just got back from taking Jasper for a long walk. Quite mild but still a bit of chill in the air. Washing is on the airer and the packed lunches are done. Just enjoying a quick coffee before i get ready for work. The girls are still in and out of the bathroom. It takes them so long to get ready.
Tea tonight is sausage, egg, chips and beans. Quick and easy.
Jools, hugs to you. You are very strong x

Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -

Morning all, mild but dull here today Jack and Loki enjoyed their walk. off to school in a while. Children seemed happy to be back yesterday but I can't believe what some of them had for Christmas, what has happened to toys for 6- 7 year olds or am I just getting too old?
Leaving the menfolk to sort dinner and hopefully off to stitch club tonight. Need to put WM on later.
Hugs to all in need esmf hope the foot is ok. Jools unclebryn, kezlou Molly and lou hugs for you all. LW you are truly valued and cherished on here , love your wise posts and views on life and the tales of the doggy visitors, keep posting.
Have a good day all:)£180.00 in 'sistercas'fund

Morning chums and <<hugs to those in need this morning .
Grey looking day again and I think more rain is due at some point.
My builder starts on my bathroom today and is taking all the tiles off first so I am making myself scarce and taking DD to Mainstaone for a mooch around the shops. She needs a new blouse for her interviews tomorrow She has one in the morning and one just after lunch so I am hoping something may go well for her.
I emptied my barthroom last night of everything I wanted to save and the rest is going to be skipped.Nothing at all worth recycling at all so I shall leave Keith the builder to get on with it when he gets here just after 8. I have shown him where the kettle, milk, sugar and tea is and I've told him to help himself .I will be around tomorrow and my house will be full of workmen as my stair lift is being installed as well so I will be making lots of Tea all day I think.
Right off to pack my spare towel and soap bag into the car as I shall be without a shower or washing facilities for a couple of days but its not a problem as both my Dds are within easy distance of my house for a shower or hair wash
Take care everyone and have a good day

Morning everyone
Thank you for all your lovely messages and birthday wishes, I had a great day just shopping, pottering about etc.
Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
Just getting light but looking to be dry here this morning. DH up and off to work stupid early.
Dinner last night was beef stew and dumplings, bought the meat at the new supermarket in the next town from the instore butchery, meat seemed good for the price although it was on offer, didn't have room for dessert but I still have 4 xmas puds - so will try to get them eaten up asap. Not sure again about tonight's dinner but will endeavour to use up some of the fridge contents, still seems to be full but need to be creative as no actual "meals".
Will be trying to get the house sorted today as it's a real pit, have already managed to get all the xmas decs/boxes etc put back in the loft but still lots of "stuff" hanging about - will be trying today to get the house cleared and cleaned up. Called in at 2 bathroom showrooms yesterday and they are both coming out next week to do a survey so we can check out our options and start looking at prices etc - hoping I can get something decent at a decent price!
Must crack on otherwise nothing will get done.
Have a great day everyone, stay safe and well x

Good morning all, hope everyone is as ok as possible.
General plans for today - morning walk to local shops, put some recycling in bins, mooch in charity shop. Jump in the car to the larger shopping centre, put more recycling in bins, get £10 Lottery win, mooch in shops, come home and do eBay photography. It looks brighter today, so I'll have good light to work with. Also, need to get a load of washing in, and chilli con carne for dinner this evening.
When I first started being a part time worker, I thought I'd just sit at home reading my book all day - that rarely happens!Early retired - 18th December 2014
