Yes exactly lilmiss! or did they run a competition? Grand prize 'a trip to Zimbabwe to visit poor people'?
I dont believe the ad! and it sure doesnt make me want to donate!0 -
maybe i am a cynic... but i see that advert and wonder what the money used to take her there could have really been used for!!!"Aunty C McB-Wik"

Surely its obvious that it was all done in order to make the advert? We're not supposed to think they do this all the time!0 -

Sorry, and I know this sounds harsh, but the thing that annoys me about that advert is the woman ramming the "food" into that poor childs mouth...
Or is that just me?What's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..0 -
I know what you mean about the ramming food thing...
I have started to mute the adverts, because between loan adverts, diet ones and compare whatever ones !! :@ adverts drive my mad...
I did hear a thing on the radio that said about people becoming dulled to the adverts, and i think its true....
I give to several charities very close to my family, and to be honest the endless adverts that make you feel that where has all the money gone in all the years since band aid gone?
WHY why why... is it still happening?
In the past I have given Christmas pressies of wells and goats... and then find am still being asked for more..
what about the people here in povety? maybe is their turn!

Well, there are charities for them. I give to Shelter.
The reasons why there are still huge problems in the developing world and why the poorest and most vulnerable still need outside aid are incredibly complicated. Money isn't an easy answer and these days the charities don't just go for short term solutions.0 -
I wondered when i saw the advert did they really film it in Africa or was it done in an old warehouse in Salford.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

I've seen that advert about 5 times today as I'm currently off work. Normally I don't watch adverts because I record or delay everything on sky plus so I never have to watch any. That advert was driving me nuts I muted it the last time I saw it. I don't mind the woman though.0

This advert infuriates me, due to its anti breastfeeding tone.
Apparently, that woman can't breastfeed her rather-large-for-one-month-old-and-not-particularly-starving-looking twins, so donate to oxfam and they'll provide her with, to use their words "proper milk".
How about they provide food for the mother, and practical breastfeeding support - then the mother will make "proper milk" all of her own!!!0
