Car a write off - Garage at fault

Sorry I didn't explain properly earlier,it's the rear number plate light that had the fault and the wires are at the rear where the boot lid opens up (it's a ford galaxy)i spoken to few people and they think it's the garage fault also
I'm so upset
At worst the connector may have come off from the constant closing of the tailgate.
The few people who think it's the garage's fault may not be correct in their analysis, after all they could have told you the light was out before you even got the the test centre.
If you are convinced it is the garage then you will have to sue them and let the courts decide.0 -
I'm convinced its the garage fault, was working fine until they messed about with wiring
I'm going to citizen advice bereau today0 -
I'd be surprised if playing with the wiring for the rear numberplate lights would cause an epic electrical failure as described above.
Would be an interesting thing if you can prove?0 -
Did they simply rejoin a snapped wire with one of those snap block connectors.
It's a big coincidence that they redid the wiring then you had an electrical fire, but if they are denying fault then I guess unless you can prove they were at fault it will remain nothing more than coincidence.
Where is the car now.
What have your insurance company said? Do you have third party fire and theft cover? If you do just claim on the insurance and let them take it up with the garage themselves.0 -

Many insurances exclude wiring loom fires.
You might have to bring a claim against the garage yourself.Be happy...;)0 -
What caused the original problem?0
