Hi everyone I'm new here hoping so done can help me

Took my car for mot and there was problem with number plate light,so garage said they would fix this for me,after they sorted the wiring and drove the vehicle back home and smoke started coming from the dashboard, wipers, electric windows and central locking stopped working because I noticed wiring had burnt and also the fuses, took car back to garage and they said they would sort it

Had the Vehicle there a few days and they said its not there fault and blaming the fuses,I said car was fine until you done wiring work and we had massive argument,I blame them for not doing job right

Any advise what I can do next?was thinking of going to Citizen advice bereau

I'm so angry and upset can't afford another vehicle :(:(

Were you present when they completed the work?
I doubt too, that they have caused the fault, suspect the wiring was dodgy before it arrived for the MOT, just coinidence that you noticed the other fault symptoms afterwards, did the car pass the MOT by the way?

I suspect they did wiring wrong because was only 20 mins after they did repairs the wires burnt and then the wipers etc stopped working

Chances are someone put a screw through the wire, it blew a fuse so they put in bigger ones until it stopped blowing and then the wiring loom melts. Seen that before.

I would first trace how they repaired the light - did they tap in a new power line and earth, or was it just a faulty bulb/holder?

It may seem I'm unsympathetic, I'm not but I really don't think it was the garage, the number plate lighting would not be near the wiper loom. If someone wanted to bodge the wiring, they could tap off the side lights at the rear, it's easier , quicker and safer.
The difficulty you will have is proving the garage done it :o

Sorry I didn't explain properly earlier,it's the rear number plate light that had the fault and the wires are at the rear where the boot lid opens up (it's a ford galaxy)i spoken to few people and they think it's the garage fault also

    I'm so upset :(

Rear light fuse wont have any relation to the window wiring and fuses.

They didnt bypass the fuse did they? Or a previous owner?

Ask for their insurance details. Let your insurance company sort it out.

Just because some of your mates and /or a range of random people say that it's the garages fault, it's hardly proof.

It's up to you to prove the garage are liable.
