To the other helpful posters, thank you, I opened a case of SNAD, as the next day delivery for £3.99 was actually in the title of the listing as well as the body.
The seller has now agreed the refund.

As someone who has worked in the industry for 37 years, that is correct.
The next day in this case would be Monday. As it didn't arrive, and provided the sender DID send it on Friday, then the sender is not a fault.
You need to establish what day it was put into Yodel's hands before taking any action, and with Yodel, it should be tracked, but pleased that you got what you wanted in the end.
Just a lesson for the future there.That's my mutt in the picture above.0 -

Yodel probably failed to show and pick up the item. Thery did that a lot over christmas.
The seller should have known yodel are unreliable around christmas - and not offered express delivery.
Make sure you hammer their feedback. Thats all you can do if they won't make a refund and you want to keep them.0 -
I used yodel for the first time in December, 2 weeks before xmas.
Booked them to collect a large heavy item (15kg) on the Wedneday, they did not turn up. They did turn up at 9.30 am on Thursday and delivered the parcel to the opposite end of the country by 8.30 am on the Friday.
I thought that was an overall excellent service, cheaper than Royal Mail and much faster. OK they were a day late to collect it which was a bit annoying but to deliver nearly 300 miles away in less than 24 hours was great.
