Our Girls are back at school tomorrow:T:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0 -
Happy Birthday nmlc. Enjoy the day.
LW: you are one huge great fraud. You keep telling us how socially inept you are and how cold hearted. Do you expect us to believe that? We know you far too well. I had a friend once who did as you do and re-ran every conversation he'd had during the day and tried to analyse it. He could never sleep and I used to tell him that he laid awake all night worrying but the world was still turning. But if that's the way you are, then that's the way you are. It's just you, and we think you're lovely.
I'm just off out as the Rev is now allowed to drive again so it's off to town and a trawl round the shops for bargains. What fun!
Hopefully we'll get a bite to eat out and onle need a snack when we get back. Tomorrow is our first fasting day - well, something drastic has to be done.

Hi all
Rachel I'd logged off before you posted yesterday, so Happy Belated Birthday to you. And Hoppy Birdday nmlc.
Bitsy thanks for the vote of confidence, my friend.:o I'm terrible whenever I've had to interact with other people, I always spend the entire night going over it all in minute detail – does my head in!
I come across colder and more “stand-offish” in RL than on here I think, just because I'm extremely nervous of people, and unsure of how to react to them – I can't “read” facial expressions, to know whether someone's larking about, deadly serious, or any point in between, so I tend to take everything that's said precisely at face value, and I keep my feelings well hidden, iyswim.:( I have to admit, I do find online communication a lot easier than RL.:o
Hester I sympathise – I was awake at 03:00 too, having to bother Mr LW to pour me a dose of Oramorph. Bless him, he can do this, clamber back into bed and nod off again, all without “properly” waking up!:A If I tried to pour the stuff myself, I'd have it everywhere.
Esmf OMG that sounds soooooo painful!:( Take care, and I hope your poor foot's better very soon.
Halight those medicals are horrid – but it's worse when they obviously haven't done a thorough job. Gods help all of us when this PIP malarkey comes in. Butterfly they're changing it so that they have an “excuse” to take it away from people, regardless. Pardon my cynicism....
I've been trying to put most of my DLA away in savings, and only using it for one-off expenses (like the bath-lift) and things like servicing my mobility scooter, so that I don't rely on it for day-to-day stuff, because when it goes, I'll still have those type of things to have to fund, and no money coming in with which to fund them. Once it runs out.... well, maybe I'll have kicked the bucket by then.;)

I'm afraid I never heard of either James Martin or James Arthur*goes away to Google.....*
ETA: Nah, can't say I'm over impressed by either.:rotfl:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Many thanks for all e positive vibes for the foot. It has nasty blisters on it, but apart from a fleeting glance I can't deal with it. Other bodily fluids not a problem, but burns and burnt skin I am not good with. Used to drive past a specialist burns unit in Chepstow and the smell wasn't pleasant.
On a positive note, managed to get trainers on, not done up, so have cleared front garden and finally planted heathers that have been sitting for 6 months!!! Lit fire and have done washing and have it on airers around the place. Will take garden rubbish to tip when I pick up DS2. Decided to make shepherds pie from left over lamb, so will have that for tea tomorrow, pasta tonight. Still not looking at foot, OH has bandaged it up for me so hopefully I won't have to look at it again!Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -
Afternoon everyone,
Hester and Islandmaid Get well soon.
Emsf that foot sounds nasty, maybe you better get it looked at.
Halight, Molly and LW Good luck with your DLA forms and medicals.
LW From your posts you certainly don't strike me as cold, you always seem very caring and thoughtful.
JackieO Good luck to DD in finding work quickly.
Well, I am back at work and feeling like I have never been away, everyone is tired and on a diet! and the pupils are miserable as exams are imminent.
I have a meeting after school tonight and then another evening of ferrying children around. I have already prepared some tomato sauce for pasta for tea and I will put the last of the Christmas ham into it. Hopefully OH and I will find half an hour to watch University Challenge (yes I know it is sad but I really enjoy it!)
Have a lovely rest of day everyone.:)0
