Morning all
Happy birthday Nmlc :bdaycake:have a fab day x
Emsf - hope your foot is ok
I'm so jealous of everyone going back to work/school. I'm so over being off work :rotfl:. I know I need to rest and recover but it's so boring, and I still have 9 days left of my sick note. I think it's made worse by the fact that I had 10 days off over Xmas too, and the day I was due back was day of my op. So it feels longer! I'm nowhere near fit enough to go back to work though so I know I need the time off. I felt very wobbly yesterday daytime, but it passed by teatime. Feel ok so far today.
Not sure what to do today. I'd like to go for a walk, but it's raining. I would cook or bake but my freezer is already full of HM meals already and I'm going to attempt to start my diet today. So looks like it's surf the net, read a book and watch tv......again!
I really enjoyed Mr Selfridge last night, fab programme!
OS wise - WM may go on, HM meal from freezer for lunch/tea, recycling to go out.
Have a good day all

Today i'm going to go through paperwork and make something with pastry for dinner. Also going to attempt to do some tidying and crafting and hopefully not spend a penny.

LW you are no where near a cold person you seem to be a very warm hearted person especially when it comes to animals Cold hearted folk do not care about our dumb friends.
Good Morning all and what a damp mizzly sort of day it is,looking out from my window just now I can see the River Medway and its gun metal grey (not a good sign)usually precedes a downpour.I managed to get most of my washing damp dry and its only the duvet cover and pillow cases left on the airer which hopefully will finish off this morning .I have Knitting club at 10.00 so it will be nice to see the faces again as its been shut since the second week in December for the Christmas holidays .
It seems so strange not to be doing the school run this morning as DDs at home searching for work. She has at least one interview on Wednesday and then whatever the agency can find for her.
This afternoon I am going to do a complete overhaul of my kitchen cupboards and see what's in them and renew the lists that I have on the inside of the doors. Also I have to empty the bathroom of everything as the builder is coming tomorrow to start on the renovations .All the tiles have to come of so its going to be dust everywhere.Once he's in tomorrow morning and got the key I am going to Maidstone for the day with DD and treating her to some new nails for her forthcoming interview I also want to see if Boots have anything in the bathroom line in stainless steel as all my bits in there are going in a skip as the colour scheme is going to be completely changed.
Eldest DD Shelley's first day back fulltime at work after her Op I hope she doesn't overdo things
I also have some vouchers to spend in M& S from Christmas
<<hugs>> to those in need January is a miserable month at the best of times but every day its getting two minutes light in the eveningand soon the crocus will be pushing through the earth as the fist sign of sping. My hyacinths that I had as a Christmas present are making my conservatory smell gorgeous at the moment
Take care all and have a good Monday

Moring all,
Dull and damp here, wm is on, but may have to go on the airer today. need to drop dd at work this morning, then home to wizz through downstairs, and do a food shop online.
I was very naughty yesterday and treated myself to a kitchenaidI have been after one for months and months, and have put off buying it as its such a big amount to spend in one go, but I did it yesterday, paid for it out of my emergency fund, and will pay myself back, very excited for it to come now
Will go and see my dad later on, then home and prepare the dinner which is roast chicken with all the trimmings.
:bdaycake:Happy Birthday to nmlc and belated birthday to rachel xx
esmf ouch, hope your foot is ok xx
have good days all xx0 -
Redruby am v.jealous of your Kitchenaid! We don't really have room for one in our diddy kitchen, and DH would be the size of a house if I had one as I'd be baking all the time!0

Good morning all,
wow it seems to have been ages since i posted in here. What with having the family at home and other things going on in my life i didnt really have chance to sit down and type more than the odd post here and there but ive today ive got everyone back at work and college and i can finally get the chance to collect my thoughts.
News from me. Well i remember posting just before i went AWOL that i'd put some weight on before Christmas. The good news is that i lost it over Christmas. I was so busy cooking for everyone else i couldnt face eating myself.... Result! Bad news is that due to the excess food we had in the house we had two days of eating rubbish and i put the weight back on. Even the dogs have put on weight so me and the two dogs are now on a diet.
Remember me telling you about the wedding of hubbys work mate that i said i wouldnt go to because hubby made some comment about what his work mates would think of my hair? Well i did go in the end. Not that i caved in i had a party of my own to go to that hubby didnt want to go to (and i didnt want to go on my own). I told him i'd go to his wedding if he would quit whining about my hair AND he'd take me to my friends birthday party. I have to say, we had more fun at my friends birthday party than his mates wedding reception. You can just imagine. My friend comes from a huge Irish family. They know how to drink (they drink wine by the bottle and straight out of the bottle), they know how to dance and being a close knit family there was no fighting involved! I grew up with them as a child and hadnt seen the majority of the family for gone 40 years! In fact the baby of the family who was still in nappies when i saw her last is now a Grandmother! Good to know i was still thought so highly of as i was as a child. Good memories!
Ive done most of routine household chores already. I must concentrate on Ebay today. Unfortunately Christmas hasnt paid for itself this year and its left a huge impact on my finances.
A happy birthday Nmlc. I hope you have a lovely day. You share your birthday with my son who is 17 today.
Glad to see the back of the wet weather. Hope it stays that way too.

Best wishes to all who are under the weather today, and happy birthday to nmlc.
Will be getting down to the housework today, first big housework day since the decorations came down, so I'll be really getting into the corners!
Also, I have my walking sorted out today - two walks to the post office and back, as I have lots of eBay parcels to send. It's a bit damp at the moment, so hope it doesn't rain, as I would rather walk for the exercise and not get the car out.
Later I'll be meeting a friend after she finishes work. We normally have a coffee, a toasted sandwich and a good old chat. OH will have to make do with the leftovers of yesterday's fish pie! He'll also have to deal with the grocery delivery, so it'll all be put away by the time I get home.Early retired - 18th December 2014

Im also struggling to fill in my DLA form too. Dreading itI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
