  • Actually I gave them a deadline of another week to provide everything we need to use the account - THEN we will demand our money back.

Just opened an ING account thanks to all the advice and tips on here. Used the link on this site. Went for the Uk one in the end as my mum wants her money kept in this country.

Is she aware of the tax implications, as she might get stung for having "offshore" funds!

I just pop in now and then.... :)

??? Oooh don't know about that? How would that work/happen? :o

I honestly have no clue about these things.

edited to add: My mum does have dual nationality and has just spent 3 yrs paying income tax in the UK.

Hohum, well things did not improve. Actually they got worse!

We gave them the extra week - still no response or PIN numbers. We rang them to cancel and demanded our money back (only £3 admittedly but that is not the point) - after a week, still no response. Rang again - they have now promised to return the money within 3-4 days. They BETTER or we will look at the FSA or Banking Ombudsman (probably useless, but you never know).

Currently opening an account with Cahoot and all is going very well at the mo.

  • I concur :).  ING does have a decent rate of interest and at the beginning of 1 month I enjoy seeing the interest I have earned in the previous 1 ;).
