Why don't people freecycle boys clothes?

I agree that the way you word your request/frequency of requests would put people off.
I have given away boys clothes in the past but do feel people are only after stuff for carboots around here so would rather give them to the charity shop. I sell on good stuff like sportswear and branded stuff, pass some stuff like uniforms and jeans to friends and the rest goes to the charity shop. I have much more success on eBay with my daughters clothes

I must have a really good area for freecycle then as we dont seem to have a massive problem with carbooters. I've given away and received LOADS of stuff on freecycle, including clothes and to be fair have never had anyone be anything but polite and friendly. The only time I've had someone give a bit of attitude was when I left something on my drive to be collected as I was going out (a crosstrainer) and it was gone by the time they got here to pick it up, I dont think they believed that it had been nabbed by the rag and bone man. They just mumbled something under their breath about wasting their time and off they went.:A:A:A:A:A:A0

Yes, I think it is the wording. Too direct and to the point I can see that now. We have Autism in the family which means we take things literally too. So have taken the whole Freecycle thing literally and can't understand why people get sooo upset except for the rudeness of course.
I am usually polite and always say please and thank-you.
I agree you have to be a giver more with freecycle as there are some BAD takers. I have given far more away than taken. But then every now and then I meet somebody who restores my faith in mankind both on the giving and taking. People are strange or maybe it's me.. Shame it's a good idea to keep things out of landfill but maybe human nature won't let us.
