mabey the stupid prices have something to do with the fall of car sales this yr and every other yr .. i bought a corsa a yr old a few yrs ago and i saved nearly 3 grand on the new car price ..

i know bought my wife a fairly rare 10 month old merc a class long wheel base for 7500 off list (worth 10k, not worth 17500 though - theyre ok but anyone who pays 25K for a fully loaded A class needs their head examined!!)....whilst my car (A peugeot 307 was new and i also saved 000's (as well as a 0% deal) i would probably be tempted to go for a year old car next time....though it does depend on manufacturer, model and deals though....vw, seat, citroen (VAT free crap!!) offer lousy deals...always found peugeot and vauxhall are good.

I won't comment on VW group deals as I have no knowledge, but the Citroen deals, particularly on the Picasso are pretty good. Show me another manufacturer that has this class of vehicle for around £10k staring point. Vauxhall don't come close. The Zafira may be a half decent machine, but it's an enormously expensive machine and, despite being a 7 seater, its load space (certainly the old model, anyway) is awful when you start playing with the seating arrangement. The Picasso is a really good car at at really good price - that's why the roads are full of them.

 I don't like the new Astra either, coming to something when you actually prefer the previous model of a new car!

Me too. I had the old Astra and it was a great car. I ended up upgrading to a different car altogether.
