Hi OP,
I have to go out, so just a note to say that if you do not hear from your employer with the consent forms and confirmation that you will be paid during the period of suspension, by about 4pm, I suggest you send her a short e-mail along the following lines:
I refer to your e-mail of yesterday evening. As I have previously informed you, my GP has confirmed that I am fit to return to work with effect from tomorrow, 11th January. You have now advised me that you are suspending me from work on medical grounds until you have obtained a formal report from my GP. I should therefore be grateful if you would forward the consent form form to me without delay, so that this enforced period of absence is not unduly prolonged. Please also confirm that I will receive full pay during this period, since I am being prevented from working against my wishes and through no fault of my own.
Yours etc.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0
