Advice on Log burners please :-)

Dont get mad Willie perhaps I made a mistake. I will tell you what I was quoted. They suppled 3 barrowbags which THEY said equalled 1cubic mt = 1 TN. Is this incorrect?
Jeepers! Barrow bags are normally 0.2 m3 for starters. So three will be just over half a cube. A cubic metre of dry logs will be around 300kg - so way way less than a tonne. If I was you, I'd be crossing this outfit straight off my list - they're either trying to pull your pants down, or they don't have the slightest idea about their product - neither of which are qualities to look for in a supplier!
As far as suppliers go - if you can find your way to the Arbtalk forum - they have a section for firewood suppliers on there which you can search by area. Most of them are "proper" firewood sellers - rather than people trying to make a fast buck!0 -
In my area (Kent) most supplies quote prices by trailer-load or half-load. For example the one I use most often is this supplier in Canterbury who charges £130 for a full trailer load (a large/long trailer) which lasts us most of the winter using a small Clearview stove most evenings, but not daytimes. I have always assumed that this is around 1 cubic metre. It is certainly at least double the amount in a standard builders bag.

I also think that it wouldn't be worth the investiment to install a back-boiler and all the associated pipework etc. unless you have the sort of household that is likely to want the stove on all or most of the day and also have the back-up of a gas boiler for morning heat.0 -

Agreed i found a place online that quotes them as 50Kg per bag (1cwt) and about 0.25m3.
So at "best" it worked out as 3/4 of a cube.
I do wonder if this is out of ignorance on the suppliers part or malicious due to the unique, and confusing way in which wood appears to be sold.0 -
Many thanks for Arbtalk link. May have found supplier. Cheers0
