Can someone help with downloading please...

I have just got a SE k800i, in replacement for my Nokia 6280.

I have lots of photos and some music on the memory card on the Nokia, but needed a new card for the SE. Is there an easy way of transferring this all across without having to bluetooth each individual item?

Also, have loads of CD's which i want to put onto my new phone, but struggling downloading them. Have got the Windows Media Player up and running, but struggling what to do.

If no one can help, can you point me in the right direction of who to ask please. Thanks.

have you got a card reader?

if so, put the card in the card reader and copy all the files (from the nokia mem card) over to your computer. format the memory card (the one for the k800i) in the k800i (file manager > more > format ext. mem.). now get the mem card from the SE, and put the memory stick micro m2 into a memory stick pro adapter and then into the card reader.

images/pictures go in the image folder
mp3's and other sounds go in the audio folder
videos go in the video folder

anything that the phone cannot recognize will go into the other folder

to get the cd's onto the k800i, go into media player > tools menu > options > Rip music > select the format as MP3 and then make sure the music is ripped at 128kbps > ok > 'Rip' tab (at the top) > insert the CD > select all the tracks you want (by making sure that all the tracks you want have a green tick in the checkbox) > click 'rip music' and wait until it has finished.

the music will usually be stored in the 'my music' folder in 'my documents' on your computer

Thanks for all your help - I have put the card into the card reader and it has copied all the photos, but I cannot find an option to copy the music or videos.

    What am I doing wrong?

go into the folder and press CTRL+A (to select all of the files) and then copy > paste the files into the right folder
  • Sorry to sound so dense -

I have two adaptors for the M2, the small one does not fit into the card reader, and when I put the long adaptor in the laptop does not seem to recognise it.

Me and technology do not go together!

the small adapter should be a memory stick duo adapter (so you can put the m2 in that adapter, then into a PSP or a SE k750i for example).

you need to put the M2 in the MS pro adapter (long one), then in the laptops card reader. if it still isnt recognized, try rebooting the computer and try again. if it still doesnt work, use the DCU-60 (the data cable that should of come with the phone) and transfer them over the data cable.
  • More stupid questions.....

I have given up with the adaptor card for the time being, and have connected the cable. When I click on to the albums I have downloaded I cannot find the SE phone on the files. How do I get this to show (I have downloaded the software from the CD that came with the phone, but dont know where to find it!).

my k750i shows up as 'Removable drive E:' (for example, the drive letter may be different) in my computer. i had to install the drivers from the disk first. then i just drag and drop files into the appropriate folder on the memory stick, and it shows up in the phones file manager

I have now realised that I did not format the card. I am trying to now, but cannot find file manager on the phone. Where is this located?
