Well yesterday was my first spend on Feb Grocery. Went to Home Bargains and spend £3.28, Asda £3.06 so total spend £6.34.

Hopefully no need to spend till Thursday. Just done Asda Price check and got 9p back. :j

  • Hi,

Can I go for £200 for this month again please? Bit late joining and haven't been posting but have been reading.

Spent £20.53 in B&M already plus £45.30 in Aldi (used the moc from the paper) and spent a small amount in Lidl too. I used the Aldi shop to stock up on tins and pack up stuff and bought some meat from there for the first time too. Made a cottage pie last night to eat tonight (Hairy Dieters recipe) and had quick taste - it was lovely! Looking forward to eating it later. Also made Twinks hobnobs a few weeks ago which went down really well with OH too!

Good Luck for Feb everyone. x

    Hi all :)

Haven't posted my spends for a few days and noticed my signature hadn't saved for February, so i'll sort that before catching up on the posts.

For the past 2 weeks me and DP have been really good with making do with the food we have in the house and i've managed to avoid trips to the supermarket.

Spends for this week include: £4.97 in Mr Ts on nappies, easter eggs and a magazine. Looking back on this spend i can see it was a waste of money, although i'm stocking up on nappies before LO is born and Easter eggs i collect once a week for family when i see them on offer.

£2.35 in Co-op for milk and a cheese sandwich.

£3.75 in £1 shop on tea bags, chocolate, toothpaste and litter liners for my cat. Although i won't be buying the litter liners again as they are far too small for our tray :(

Either tomorow or Wednesday will be big shop day of the week and i'll need to get a few bits for breakfast tomorrow as i'm out of bread.

Will add 1 NSD to my total too as i had one last week.

    Suze :)

  • Well it`s gonna be a NSD today for me, as i`ve got DS2 home today, not well poor thing!.

I cooked my chicken in the slow cooker yesterday and the meat just fell off the bone. I did add chicken stock when I popped the chicken in, so it wouldn`t dry up. So now i`ve got some lovely stock with extra flavour, which i`ll freeze later and the rest of the chicken for tonights meal. Not too sure at the moment what i`m gonna do with this. I did think just cold meat mash and beans, but want to try and bulk it out a bit more as the kids are eating me out of house and home.
    Any other ideas, most welcome.

  • Just posted on my NSD challenge thread and this month has not kicked off to a flying start.

I've not had one NSD yet and I know I spent far to much on the weekend. I am actually to afraid to post the numbers tomorrow but know I must!

I'll just have to keep motivated and keep the dream alive to pay off my debts this year. (sigh........)

  • NSD aren't a problem for me - I WFH and a trip to the shops involves a cycle or car ride.

I've just edited my £140 this month down to £100 - because I only spent £128 last month (just added up last few receipts). I did a stocktake on my food cupboard - so much flour in there that needs using up - going to be making biscuits, cookies you name it.

Morning all! It will be another NSD for me today:)

On my 5:2 diet fast day today, so not much cooking going on. There will be something happening with some prawns for dinner tonight hopefully -but it won't be much as I cannot go above 250 calories.

The prawns were a good buy from MrS* 2 bags of King Prawns for £5.00.:)

One week down out of four, and my budget left so far : £73.35/£100

I have been using a few bits out of the freezer, but I restocked a bit yesterday with some whoopsies: 2 x large chickens £1.49 each (especially pleased with that one!), belly pork, diced beef, pork escalopes and some fish cakes. That and a few other bits came to just over £10.
I am stocked up with bread flour already, but this weeks spend does include a sack of spuds, which I was shocked to find had gone up to £12, the most I paid last year was £10, but I guess like everything else they've gone up.

4 days into Feb challenge and 3 NSD including today. :)

The roast chicken yesterday has so far done 3 meals with plenty left. I shall be having meal #4 from it tonight as did too much veg, DH wants a jkt potato though as he isn’t keen on the same meal two days running, son eating out tonight. After that will probably freeze the rest of the chicken for later plus the carcass for stock. Found two spring onions in the salad drawer so they were finely chopped and put into some onion sauce instead of the bin. :D

We have a new shop opened in the town its either £ land or £ stretcher so tomorrow will be paying them a visit to see what they have. Also nipping into C0 0P as need some lettuce, yogurt and ginger and have a £10 voucher, not sure if you get change but doubt it so if so will be adding something else to the list that will get used later.
