Total of £20.57 for me yesterday even though I only had raisins, new potatoes and cooking apples on the list! I bought a couple of the weekend offers at L!dl and some wine and also bought a few bits in £stretcher which have some randomly good offers. I have enough bread and milk for the month already so it really is only fresh fruit, veg and salad I should need. I just love shopping though! Now I am living in a town with a covered market it is interesting to see what is on offer there - like 7 trays of meat for £20, with at least four portions per tray. Also pheasant for £3 which I thought was pretty good. They were also selling carrier bags jammed full of bananas for £1 - ideal for a family but not much use to me on my own!

I am constantly amazed at how well most of you manage on sometimes very small budgets. It makes me feel like a bit of a spendthrift.

Baked bread and muffins so far. chicken casserole in oven for dinner, using up frozen LO chicken and some manky veg ( sounds lovely doesn,t it).

Will use LO casserole for lunches this week.

Day off tomorrow, so will make flapjacks and brownies for the weeks goodies.

Just back from pound stretchers where I spent £2 on 24 rolls of loo roll, £1 on toothpaste and £2.59 on n3scafe as I forgot it yesterday. I also spent £2.59 on one fe breeze which I haven't seen anywhere for ages. Only went in for fat balls for the birds but we did need coffee as DH wouldn't have any of it from ald1as he insists he won't drink any but nescaf3. if only he knew ;)

Best add the £2 DH spent on r3d bull too.

I have chicken in a lemon and herb sauce in the slow cooker. The chicken is frozen chicken fillets from ald1 and they look very good, full breasts rather than the cut in half lengthways ones I got at mr t. Will see how they taste:)

DS and I made chocolate buns this morning and I tried a new recipe for GF scones which have come out well. They would be better if I didn't roll them so thin but still pleased with this attempt.

No grocery spends today - did go to my first wedding fair, to look at my first venue and even tried on my first dress, so far too busy to get any shopping in :rotfl:

Meal plan for this week is as follows:

Tonight - sausages (YS and from freezer) with mash, cabbage and carrots

Mon - stir-fried vegetables, noodles and cashews with an attempt at HM hoisin sauce

Tues - mushroom and chestnut ragout with mashed sweet potatoes (forgot to get chestnuts so will need to pick them up)

Wed - spaghetti bolognaise (from freezer) with salad

Thurs - veggie chilli with rice and yoghurt

Fri - steak for OH, fishcakes for me (from freezer) with chips and salad

Sat - broccoli, cauliflower & cannelini beans cheese bake

OH is working tonight so once he's left I think I'll do some prep and make the hoisin sauce for tomorrow (both going to the gym so we'll want to eat as quickly as possible) plus the chilli for Thursday if I can be bothered :)

I like weekends like these - yesterday and today were both NSDs :D Yes, we've been out, but the things we've bought have been treats from a different budget as we don't go out often. My main shop of the week is tomorrow, and my list is prepped and ready to go.

Tea tonight was going to be a chicken supreme thing with pasta, but as we have a couple of enchiladas to eat up, Mr KB will have those and I'll just have a little plain pasta as I'm not really that hungry. Will update tomorrow when I've been shopping and hopefully will get quite a lot for my money - though I doubt it the way prices keep rising!

Have a lovely evening and rest of weekend, everyone.

Muffin and custard for brekkie. I had a yummy biscuit with my mid morning cup of tea - received in a Christmas present - hamper. My DS had asked - what did I want for Christmas - I didn't know - so they got a shabby chic suitcase and filled it with food goodies - I love the case more than the food. Don't get me wrong - the food was fantastic - top range goods but the suitcase - is to die for.
Lunch - fried off leftover roast potatoes, tomato, mushrooms, 1/2 sausage, 1/4 tin baked beans on 1/2 slice HM bread toasted. Followed by mango - stuffed after that lot. Cost of meal in photo + mango - less than 50p.
