A simple tea for us, cold pasta salad. Simple, but tasty fare. Have started the month of Feb with a nsd and hope that i will have lots more under my belt by the end of the month.

Last night i decanted large bags of lentils, chapatti atta flour, chick peas into storage jars. Also mixed and weighed out my bread flours so that i only have to grab a bag if pre-weighed flour, bung it in bread machine pan with yeast, sugar, salt, water and oil and 2 hours later will. Have a lovely fresh baked loaf of bread.

Not planning on spending any money on food/meals/groceries over the next few days. We have what we need :)

First spend of the month today! Went to Mr M on the way home for some vodka and beer (separate budget) as OH and I are having a night in with a pack of cards and a couple of tv series episodes we've been saving :-) this is rather than going out, as part of our commitment to saving up!

Also bought savers cocoa pops (83p) and YS blueberries (50p). The blueberries have been popped in the freezer for smoothies :)

Having burgers for dinner, OH has made himself a meat one (he's cooking as I was at the gym after work) from mince in the freezer, my bean burger was also previously made and frozen, and the buns were YS and frozen. The chips, salad, gherkins and ketchup were already in and hes serving some leftover beans and mushrooms from his fry-up this morning. So easy, cheap storeboard meal lol.

Two more receipts to add, from Aldi and Sainsbury's. I priced it all on my supermarket, then took the list to Aldi and bought anything cheaper there. I must make a price book. The shop at Sainsbury's was much more successful than last week, I managed to get the offers I wanted. Last week they were gone - I was imagining lots of GC challengers clearing the shelves ahead of me!! So far I have spent 49% of the budget. I think we will be fine, we are going away for a week on the 15th, self catering, and although I will take some ingredients with us, I have a separate pot for the holiday that includes some food spends.

Has anyone tried to use the price alert feature on mysupermarket? It won't work for me.

Hi Guys am new to posting on these threads but would love to get involved, if I knew how that is. I also was wondering how to subscribe to a thread.

Not really sure where to start I just know I need to save money as i'm hoping to pay off as much of my debt as possible before Christmas 2013.

If anybody has any tips to help get me started then I would appreciate it, i'm hoping to join the toiletries challenge as I have a habit of wanting to buy more than I need, and my stockpile is quite large as it is so no need.

Sorry for rambling on, hope you don't mind me joining :)

Day 1 of re-joined GC and I spent £14.01, when I should have only spent about £5, so my weekend list is very short! :rotfl:
I've done a stocktake and menu plans - I hadn't realised just how much we have in the way of protein/meal bases - enough for a full month without even trying! Shopping tomorrow is basically bits for DS packups, fruit and veg, and sandwich fillings.
Will read back through the thread over the weekend for some inspiration to keep on track this time - thanks in advance peeps! :D

MR F and I weighed ourselves today - he now weighs 13 stone 7lbs - exactly half the man he was. :j I am so proud of him. :) I had lost 2 lbs - I want to lose a bit more - would like to be under 10 stone.
I had a slice of HM syrup cake with a cup of tea this afternoon - yes I know just after talking about losing weight. Our change of lifestyle means we can have treats and still maintain/lose weight. It is all about balance. No processed meals/take aways or alcohol - lots of calories there.
Dinner tonight - I costed it - this plate of food - which was yummy - cost - 64p. That includes extra roast potatoes that will go in the fridge for lunches.

    Stir fry tomorrow for dinner.
