Hi ,
Hope some of you are enjoying this beautiful yellow/orange thing that seems to give off a small amount of heat and light!! Not sure what it is? has not been seen for such a long time, maybe a thing of legends, lol!
So anyhoo the serious stuff, epic fail on the January grocery challengecompletely lost track of all spends and no idea of what I've spent..... my budget for this month is squeezed so I need to focus!
Therefore can I please be put down for a realistic budget of :
£300 This is for all grocery stuff, cleaning products and packed lunches for four of usI'm going back to cash- it's much too easy to spend unlimited amounts on a debit/credit card!
Finally a Huge thank you to all who make this challenge possible and those who post the yummy recipes.:T

Did end up doing the weekly shop last night and spent £74.79 after using a £3 of £30 voucher I wombled. This inlcuded 2 big 65 wash Fa1ry on offer and 3 x £12 wine.
Made DH and me HM pizza last night using bought/prescription basis and DH loved it so that will def be on the menu again.
I have been using some of the extra points and double points Mr S vouchers that are relevant to me and I have earnt almost £12 since Christmas. I have a double point diesel one to use up on DH gas guzzler so that will add some more on. My plan is to keep them either for our April self catering holiday or our trip to France in September.
I am going to attempt hunters chicken for me tonight and DH is having a steak that was in the freezer with chips and peas.
My total stands at £199.82 out of a £400 budget with 2 weekend shops to do. I have a lot in my freezers and cupboards but will probably need more sausages next week and can only eat the M&S ones as they are GF and tast nice:) Will check the freezer first though, should really get a list done of it's contents.Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%

So, Febuary for me is starting on the 31st, when I get my first delivery!
Today I am going to do a stock check, and write down everything we have in....and meal plan! for the first time in months.
January I worked out we spent £168, this was for the two of us, without meal planning.
Meal planning for a month, and possibly buying a months worth of foods. Does anyone do this?I was wondering how other people find itWeightloss: 18lbs/28lbs (Start weight: 11st, Current 9st 10)

I have tried to do it and it has worked well when I have but I find it quite difficult sometimes to think up meals in advance for a whole month and end up getting disheartened. I did have some friends who had a 2/3 month rolling meal plan! Now I have a monthly one on my computer/phone but I do a week at a time which is much more manageable for me and more adaptable. That way if I do some batch cooking I can put meals in for other dates without feeling bogged down by having to fill out the entire month.
I guess it depends on you and what your family likes to eat/if you have times when who will be eating can change during the month.(DH is a freelance Sound Engineer and so can disappear for a couple of days sometimes without much warning).
I would say it's definitely worth a go and remember you can be flexible and move some things around if you need/want to.Saving for Disney again, oops why book one Disney holiday when you can book two!:starmod: Emergency Fund Savings - #148 - £10/£1000 1% :starmod::xmastree:#083 SPC6 £63 - SPC7 £90 - SPC8 £63 - SPC9 £54 - SPC10 £26 - SPC12 £70 :xmastree:0 -
