Thanks. Is that Upgrades or retentions? I ask as if I remember correctly the better deals are on the retentions number.
It's going to cost me to phone them now too

Glad I read this post I'm due for renewal next month. I've been with them for two years already, I've already foudn the service really good and when I tried to cancel last year and was presuaded against it by the 500 min & 500 text a month deal for £20.
To be honest I think I'm going to go onto the virgin free sim deal (in this weeks money savings tips email) it's 15 a month for six months , 150 texts and 75 minutes but you can claim the 90back so effectively (as long as you send for the cash back) your getting i for free - surely can't get better than that?!0 -

Now if I were a new customer to them, I could get the same phone on similar contract for £199.99
Don't want to switch to Orange because the company I work for have bought out the contract with them as reception was very poor and many friends I know have experienced this as well. So needing to search out other offers.
I thought O2 offered existing customers the same deal as new ones? are you compairing on the same tarriff?0 -

I am... although phoned up again today to be "refreshed" on my free upgrade options and asked about the price - now told £249.99 which appears in line with the current site for a £20 tarriff... my current is £19p/m
I experienced this problem last year with them when I wanted to upgrade to an O2 XDA Mini S - the price they offered was about £100 more than if I had been a newbie. Shopped around the networks (O2 XDA's are also made by a company called HTC and provide similar models to other networks), went back to them with the best deal I had found... they still made me pay up front for the phone, but gave me 12 months @ £9p/m - which worked out as a saving in the long run, as the best deal had been £25 p/m for 18 months.0 -
No joy my end which is a 1st for few years with o2.
I currently pay £15 p/m for 200xnet mins and 500 txts and had to pay for my phone (w810i).
I wasn't too bothered about an upgrade of phone as I still like the w810i but all they could offer was:
18 month contact (a big no no for me)
£25 p/m
£100 cashback
