Yes I made the cake, and with the help of my dad made the blinging mirrored cake stand. I'm trying to justify somewhere for it but really - when am I ever gonna use it again?! It has to go...

I tried that one Steph - they couldnt manage to get the colour right, I kept asking for a shade of gold (and I'm not bridezilla I promise) but it kept coming out bronze, orange, green tinged!Keep asking them for a proof... and dont give in til your happy with them!

I even looked at vista as well, but I couldnt get my design to fit their standard sizes properly....

All of this will explain why my invites went out with the xmas cards, and the evening only peeps got theirs between xmas and new year :rotfl:

The letters were those brown ones from Hobbie Craft, I sprayed them silver (dont tell OH in the kitchen as it was snowing!) and then glued on some 4mm diamantes. Really wanted them SUPER blinging but got bored after about 2 hours of glueing so gave up and did the corner pattern. One of the easiest things I made to be honest!

The "cards" sign was from ebay. I can search out the seller for anyone that wants it... It was made from wood, I emailed them what I wanted and it came within a couple of days. Again sprayed it silver and glued the diamantes on. But I did stick it on the top of the card box with double sided dots on the day as it kept falling over!

I noticed there is a "wedding flash" thread too. Instead of clogging this thread up should I go over there?

no clog away on here, thats why i started this thread i love pics ill post mine now, ive only taken pics of my invites up to now. bexsmum are you a cake maker? I want to make my own as i do it for friends and family but someone said to me last week you do realise we are all expecting something out of this world - argh pressure or what!! I want to find something dead unusual and fabulous and i love yours!! did you use any dummy cakes or is it all real? how stressful was it? would you recommend it sorry for all the questions lol x

also those doing pocketfold invites, are you putting them in envelopes? i was trying to figure out whether you put them in envelopes or just the names on the back? neither me or my OH could work it out haha x
