Where have you looked for the music though? Only in the play music app? Good chance it has stored them internally so use your file manager to look for them. They may not have gone into the right folder though - it can be frustrating."If you no longer go for a gap, you are no longer a racing driver" - Ayrton Senna0

I really don't know what to do now, as it seems what I am doing is right just not working, i 'm at a loss.
Thanks for your reply.
So you transfered all music to the music folder on the nexus correct ?
You got a music player app ? If you have I just chose the app i downloaded and it found the files I copied over.0 -
I have just plugged our Nexus 7 into my work laptop. I let it install the drivers and then opened the Nexus in Windows Explorer. (It appears as a Portable Device).
I double-clicked on the Internal Storage folder, then on the Music folder ... all the music we have copied to the Nexus is showing there.
I really can't understand what you are doing wrong (if anything). And if you're NOT doing anything wrong, then I can't understand why it doesn't work for you.0 -
Jeff bridges hair. I have looked everywhere. Yes very frustrating.
Dcfc79. Yes I did. When you say music app are you referring to the one already on the nexus 7?
thanks again for the help.0 -
Bod1467. Is all the music showing in you folder with the head phones, or have you down loaded a music app.
Thanks0 -

I was using Google Player (headphones app) to check the music on the device. (I also could see it via Windows Explorer when connected to the laptop). Just checking if the music is visible in some other apps ...
Google Player? Yes
VLC? Yes
MX Player? No - just sees Movies
DICE Player? No - just sees Movies
Sensor Music Player? Yes.
Google Player also syncs with a Cloud music library (as mentioned and linked previously), so when you have a network connection you can see the music there too.0 -
I was wondering what format the music was you have transferred over.
I have managed to get some music over which are WAV format, now noticed the other music is WMA format, does this make a difference, or should it not matter.
Thanks again for your help.0 -

MP3 would be a better choice; the Nexus apparently can't play WMA out of the box and WAV is a criminal waste of space on something with so little storage.0 -
VLC would play your WAV files. I love VLC player. It does everything. Even makes me a cuppa"If you no longer go for a gap, you are no longer a racing driver" - Ayrton Senna0
