Thanks for everyone's help with my questiions. I have managed to get it sorted.

I have another couple of questions, if anyone can help again.

    1. I have tried to transfer music from my computer to nexus 7, computer said unplug device so I thought everything had gone ok, when I came to look on my nexus 7 nothing there.

    2. How do I sync my computer with nexus 7.

Sorry for all the different questions, wish I was more tech minded.

    1. I connect via USB and the Nexus appears as a Media device which I can explore. Music is then copied into the Music folder. When done I simply unplug the Nexus.

    2. Not tried it yet but when I've asked previously I've had DoubleTwist suggested. (It's a download for Windows to put on the PC, and also an Android app to put on the Nexus).

As above - if you've got iTunes, DoubleTwist is excellent. It's a bridge between iTunes and Android devices. Actually anything that's not an iPod. It can sync playlists etc.
Is that what you mean by syncing to your computer or something else? Plugging in is very old fashioned don't you know - everything 'syncs' in the cloud these days - Email, calendar, contacts....

Thats odd, should have worked. Maybe try air droid and transfer the music using that, airdroid is an app that sends the music or any files over your wifi connection.

Or you use google play music, download the program to your pc (shall need to be signed into your google account) and tell the program what folders your music is in.

Weird - worked fine for me. (It may popup a message about the files being transferred not being compatible - just ignore/OK that. I just copied folders across, so some of the files in there may not have been music files).

My daughter has transferred a load of music to the Nexus (for "Mum") this afternoon with no issues. I hadn't even shown her how to do it.
