I know this would only be a short term help, but have you thought about getting Community care Grant? You can get up to £500 which would help you to pay for someone short term so you can at least have a bath in peace.
This is a quote from the FAQ here http://www.irs-review.org.uk/faq/ccg.htm#how that I think would apply to you.If someone is part of a family coping with exceptional pressures.
The key test is that help with the expenses would help both the applicant and another family member cope with very difficult situations.
For example, you and your family might be under exceptional pressures because of circumstances such as illness, disability, a disaster or poor living conditions. It might be a single, major pressure or the cumulative effect of a number of problems. The overall effect on the family rather than the type of problem is most important. You may be able to get a grant to pay to for an item or service that would ease the exceptional pressures, whatever they might be.
I think in your circumstances you should go for the full £500 to ease things for a few weeks until something else is hopefully sorted.

If you phone your local benefits office they will give you the contact number for your local CCG office. They come through within a couple of weeks normally.
Don't word the application as wanting the money for respite as they don't pay out for it.
Hope this helps a little. J xx£2021 in 2021 no.17 £1,093.20/£20210 -

I'll be ok,I hope! It's hard to explain how just having one evening to yourself or being able to wake up normally without having to be on your feet in seconds and straight into a routine that isn't of your choosing makes such a difference:rotfl:
The little things in life make such a difference!
I'll get something sorted :-sIf women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -
Can you tell us a bit more about the school shegirl? are they a normal school or a specialist school for disabled children? one of the biggest problems is a normal school are often forced to adapt to children and situations they are simply not equipped to deal with. When using the housing forum please use the sticky threads for valuable information.0

Just caught up with this thread and wanted to send you a virtual hug.
I strongly suggest you contact the Challenging Behaviour Foundation if you haven't already done so. They will have specialist knowledge of your legal rights, another source of information and possibly help to get an advocate for your son would be your local Carers Branch.
A friend of mine who went through similar battles found a lot started to happen once her son had an advocate. It added real weight to her arguments as they were independent of all except the person they were advocating for.
I know from bitter experience that when caring for someone like your (and my) son energy and time are in scant supply, but if you ever have them, do follow up these contacts.
Wishing all the very, very best.'Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.' T S Eliot0 -

Yep,his psychologist suggested an advocate and I'll be making enquiries this week.
I keep meaning to contact the challenging behaviour association but haven't yet. It's on my to do list.
Thank youIf I at least get some bits in progress I'll feel a bit better.More than anything at the moment it's fear that's the biggest drain on me
