    Morning Everyone!

penpen - "Oh NO" Not those lovely chooks and the very lovely Echo Chick!! - I am most upset about that news .....I was quite attached to them!

Reading what others have to say....maybe you should erect a cctv camera so that next time something happens you will know if it is foxes or someone having a cheap dinner.

THANKS for all the anniversary wishes (yes it is today!:rotfl:) its 4 years (but have been together 7yrs - hope there's no 7yr itch! ) DH presented me with a lovely HM card, a picture of us from our wedding on the front in a "heart shape" and inside had typed Elizabeth Barrett Browning's poem:love: (isnt that a smoochy, lovey dovey, sloppy start to the day, hee hee)

Well done to all those trying to lose weight, smokey, taplady, amie - I know just how you feel - its an uphill struggle isnt it!!

mrs mix - hope ds arm is ok, good luck at hospital
catowen - good luck with your carrot planting this time!
rchdapp1 - glad lily is doing tickedy boo!;)

    Morning!:hello:

So sorry to hear about your chooks Pen Pen! ((hugs)) I would be in tears too.

    Happy anniversary Shez!

Been busy the last 3 days on the flylady thread, it is really making a difference but I am shattered what with trying to keep up with the garden as well!

Brg Rzl, 2 egg whites? how about:-

from the Goode Kitchen book by Shirley Goode. This recipe also uses up the heat from the oven's evening meal overnight so very Ol style! ;)

    Meringue Crunchies
    (makes 30 - 36)

    2 egg whites
    5oz/150g caster sugar
6oz/175g crunch (cereal, broken biscuit, muesli, nuts whatever you have)

Beat the egg whites with the sugar for 3 mins with an electric whisk until really thick. (It will take longer if done by hand) Fold in the crunchy bits. Line 3 baking sheets with foil and dot with teaspoons of the mixture, leaving room for them to spread. Place the baking sheets in the oven before you turn it out. Shut the door and turn off the heat and leave the cookies for at least 8 hours (overnight is perfect) Don't open the door until morning! Result very yummy cookies!

    Catz x

Just heard that my friend is doing really well after her op and is out of intensive care and back on ward! Hope to go and see her tonight!
    So relieved!

  • Hello to everyone, I've been advised to read and join this thread and I must say, you all seem like a really friendly, supportive bunch. My OH asked me how much debt we had on credit cards last night. I gave him a figure which was actually £7000 less than the actual amount in the hope he wouldn't go mad - unfortunately he did! He grew up in a well off family and doesn't seem to understand debt at all. I felt like I was coping until I told him, he went through the roof, he thinks its the end of the world and now I feel awful :( I explained things to him as best as I could and we'd made up before we went to bed, but now I feel under a huge amount of pressure to get this debt reduced - if he found out the true extent of the debt I don't know what he'd do! Anyway, that's enough moaning, today is another day and I'm doing my best to live a more thrifty life now! I've read Thrifty ways for Modern Days and felt inspired, I hope I can pick up more tips from you guys and share some of my own to. I hope its ok for me to join in :)

I noticed quite a few of you seem to be trying to lose weight, I may not have a lot of old style tips under my belt but I am a qualified personal fitness trainer and I'm currently doing a nutritional therapy diploma so if any one wants advice I'll certainly try to help!

My work day today has been shorter than expected, 7.15 - 12.30, so now I've got time to clean the house as OH's cousin is coming to stay this weekend and the house is terrible! Really need to get into a better cleaning routine, unfortunately the nature of my job means my hours are different every week and I always have people changing their sessions at the last minute!

So that's me! Hope to get to know you all better soon!!

    Welcome samsampotts :hello:

    ((((hugs))))

Have you been over to the Debt Free Wannabe board to introduce yourself too? You'll have those debts down in no time (oh yes, and how to discuss them with your OH is a speciality of theirs ;))

While I'm here - catznine, thanks for that recipe, it sounds yum! Maybe will do it with walnuts - I've got the best part of a bagful of whole ones at the back of my cupboard and they won't keep forever!
