    :hello: Hi everyone,

Not posted much lately, but have been trying to stay OS, mind you 'must try harder':rotfl: :o

I've been decluttering house and garden and trying to make the house a more pleasant place to live. I'm just having trouble letting go of any excess kitchen paraphanalia.

I have a new job to start in may. I'm going to be head of kitchen at the local primary school, so lovely hours to fit in with kids:j :j My only worry is that the recipes won't be 'os' enough:rotfl: Oh well will have to wait and see.

    Have a nice day everyone.

    Happy, happy day.

For some time my little terror has been rolling on the bed. Today I left her on the floor whilst I 'paid a visit' and when I came back she was on her front. Yey. Its the first time she's done this on a hard surface. I keep hoping that her past illness hasn't left any serious long term mark....so far things are looking good.

My next appointment is on Monday for our second hearing test. We were told that there can be a delayed loss of hearing reaction with meningitis. So we've got to go back. However, personally I think her hearing is fine. After that we have to wait until mid to end of May for our next Doctors and Physio appointments.

Oh...and it looks like she's left handed. She holds things for longer in her left hand than her right. This is hardly unexpected and it was the left side of her brain (operates the right side of the body) that was hardest hit when she was ill.

Nothing OS to report really. Having a quick and easy tea....fish and chips from the freezer.

Hugs to those that need them, and a big hello to everyone.
Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

Lily contracted Strep B Meningitis Dec 2006  Now seemingly a normal little monster.
Love to my two angels that I will never forget.

Hi again! just caught up, so nothing done so far:eek: !
rchddap1 - so please to hear that LO is progressing I'll keep my fingers crossed for her progress.

Pen-Pin Glad nephew enjoyed his evening, I am sure DH has great difficulty keeping his hands to himself with BIL, I turn very nasty if I hear of children being abused.
On a lighter side though we took our nephew away at a similar age while his Mum had her Gall Bladder out. They said he was having a bit of trouble reading, so I went out and bought a couple of ladybird learning to reading books of the right stage. First day right, you are going to read me two pages of this before we go out, don't want to want to go to . . . Yes, when you have read it, I don't think he had met a immoveable object before, eventually he read the two pages with help slowly and painfully. Next day same again, but realised quicker that unless they were read no chance of going out, read it easier, third day went up to 3 pages, fourth day fetched the book, read it to the end quickly, no probs with the next book. Went back to school and his teacher said what on earth have you done, he has moved on leaps and bounds. He was more than capable but Mum was a soft touch, me no! We still laugh about it now. Taught him to swim too on the same holiday, but that was another story.

Enjoy your day going to log off now else will get nothing done!

Morning all....nice bright morning, I had an appointment at the doctors, I have lost 2kg.....not supprising after all the trolling around I have been doing. Now have to see her every 2 months............

Penpen, we used to keep chickens 2000 of them, a fox will scare hens to death, but will only take 1, it sounds as if someone was looking for a cheap dinner................distressing for your little ones..........

I have put a load of washing in, need to go down and put it in the dryer, will have some ironing to do later, OH is playing bowls, I might hop on the bus and go up to the shopping centre for a fuddle..........I am con concious that I am inclined to just sit around if OH is out.......on the other hand might have a go at clearing up the chest at my side of the bed, need to change the bed and put the lighter quilt on, also need to find a place for the small steps, at the moment they are being used to put towels over!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am still sleeping well, I am not sure if its the new tablets I have or just that I am knackered.................

There is a nice breeze coming in through the windows, our front windows face ssw so we get the sun in for most of the day, our bedroom nw so gets the sun very late in the day, so stays quite cool.

I sold another book on amazon yesterday did a bit better with this one, it only cost 83p to post so got just about £6 for it.

Need to transfer some cash for my monthly shop although I am not sure whether to do just 2 weeks as we are going to be away for 10 days out of the month, could maybe get the food in just to last us until we go and over the holiday, that way if I leave my hk cash in my Nationwide account, I can use the money for anything we need to bring home.

Right off for a coffee..................and to sort out the washing......
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.

    Morning :hello:

The office is half empty this morning, all the trains in SE London are cancelled because of a warehouse fire with a 200m exclusion zone which includes most of the railway lines into London Bridge and beyond. I used to live out that way and I'm glad I didn't have that to contend with today. Ironically Ken Livingstone decided that today should be Walk to Work Day :rotfl:

And I am tearing my hair out a little - I have a work task which *must* be completed by the beginning of next week - I had a consultant working on it with me last week who then went off sick at the start of this week and sent a colleague in his place. Now his colleague is off sick too  so I am waiting for their boss to phone me back with a contingency plan.

Still, at least it's payday :D - this month's gone really fast! - and being April, the tax thresholds have all increased slightly so my take home salary is about £5 up on last month - which is great as it covers the council tax increase.

Penelope Penguin - what an awful thing to happen ((((hugs))))
rchddap1 - glad the littlie is continuing to do well :j
    Shez - happy anniversary :j

I achieved *some* of my To Do list yesterday:

    - Carried on sorting out my programmes and I got up to early 2006, but then my previous disorganisation caught up with me - I have a chronological list which I started 5 years ago when I packed them all up to go into storage, and although I did continue it for ones I collected subsequently, I somehow stopped updating the list early in 2006... which means I need to work out which order all the subsequent ones go in. It will be easy if I can find last year's diary, but it's hiding. 2007 will be easy as I don't have many yet for this year and can work it out from my current diary.
    - Made cream of asparagus soup  out of the Lindsay Bareham book
    - Put the WM and DW on
    - Phoned my mum - she's moving house next Tuesday and has been Freecycling like mad.

Question of the day: Can somebody suggest a good way of using up 2 egg whites (I needed the yolks for the soup) without the need to add further ones (i.e. to make meringues I'd need more than 2!)

To do list for this evening includes:
    - Tidy and clean kitchen
    - Find 2006 diary and finish sorting the programmes
    - Sew buttons on skirt and blouse
    - Tackle the mountain of clean washing in my bedroom which is still there

    Anyway, must be off.

    Love Rzl xx

:T :T Wow - what happened to me? I've been a whirlwind this morning! The sun is out and looks like it will stay out for the rest of the day. I haven't stopped - I don't know if it's the goji berries I discovered and started taking on Saturday finally kicking in or what?

I need to make this quick because I am collecting DGD from pre-school at 11.30 andneed to get to the bank first.

PenPincher - good luck at the hospital! Glad you, your family and your DN had such a lovely evening - I know you don't expect praise but you deserve it; you are obviously having a really positive effect on him and it's heartwarming to hear all about it. :j :j Please keep us posted - I think we're all feeling like he's one of our own, now!:A :A

Ageandjo- hope you still feel OK after your night sweat!:confused:

Taplady - that's a long day you're facing at work; hope it doesn't tire you out too much!:A :A

Emmy - you also have a long day - make sure you stop for lunch!:A :A

OldMc - have a great day and good luck with the bed!

Mrs Mix - good luck at the hospital with DS2 - hope you don't get kept waiting for hours and hours. My DS2 and I had a horrendous wait once so we went straight up on to the ward and stayed until we were seen!

Lynz - good thinking - I'd eat anything if it was wrapped in chocolate!:T :T Your veggies sound lovely!

dlb - sounds like you should be setting up a paying service for all the advice you give!:T :T

Annie B Florence deal sounds great - we spent a weekend in Brighton last year, just the two of us, and it cost £300!!

    Essex-girl - hope DS's hayfever is not too bad:A :A

Crazy - so glad your hair is less frazzled today!:T :T

Danna - yes, I'm wondering about Moggins, too. Will update you on the bread situation when I've got more time - have to go out in about five minutes and am typing at 400 miles an hour and my keyboard is about to burst into flames!

Forever - Good luck with your new job:T :T

    Rchddap1 - all the best for your LO:A :A

    donny-gal - well done, you sound like Supernanny!:T :T

Joannasmum - guttering is quite easy - helped my DH last year - well, told him whether or not it was wonky! Good luck with it:A :A

Anyway, must dash - great day to everyone. Catch up later!:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:
