Should I contact Parking eye

Hi got a parking charge from Parking Eye
Showing Vehicle arriving 09.37 and departing 11.31 on 08/12/2012 total of 1 hour 52 mins staying over time allowed by 22 mins in Aldi -Iceland car park.I received this notice on 29th December which was actually a reminder notice saying that if I paid before the 28th December the charge would be reduced from £70.00 to £ 40.00, the ironic thing about this is I did drive in at 09.37 but drove back out again because I needed some shopping in Morrisons.
Then I drove back in and parked at about 10.25
I have reshearched a bit before posting this thread and have doubts about contacting them ,but my wife is concerned that they may take me to court :(

IGNORE everything from the scamming scumgags and they WILL bogg off and go away, there begging letters will come in handy for emergency toilet paper, one never ever knows when you will run out of the stuff :money::D
PPCs say its carpark management, BPA say its raising standards..... we all know its just about raking in the revenue.

    Ignore them.

The chances of them taking you near a court is very low.

More important than contacting the parking con men which will do no good you should certainly contact Aldi - Iceland and ask them why they employ these bogus parking companies to drive their customers away! :)
If every one did this these leeches would be starved!

Yep first in last out, this happens to often to be a coincidence , if it was me and I had the receipt from morrisons I would make a complaint to the dvla and trading standards
When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

Gan (who is the letter-meister supreme on PePiPoo) has suggested this letter on a thread over there:

    Dear Sir

    Ref : PCN ****

    I am appealing this ticket.

The vehicle was not parked for the time you allege. Your ANPR system is defective.

If this appeal is rejected, I require the validation code for POPLA

    Yours faithfully

I would be very tempted to send that to them!

As Gan points out, if they reject this they are leaving themselves open to a complaint to the DVLA for misuse of data if they persist in demanding money after you have alerted them to both the fact that your car wasn't present when they say it was, and to an error with their 'ANPR' system.

Oh, and they most definitely won't do court with this! They know they are playing hard and fast with the ANPR data as it is, and also the legal standing of their 'fines' so they certainly won't want a judge looking at it too.
    Je Suis Cecil.

updating got a letter dated 17th January 2013.
My wife said it arrived on the 23rd I've been away, they really are efficent, the letter is stating that 29 days have now passed and the amount payable is £70.00 this payment is required within 14 days to avoid futher action.
If this letter is ignored further action may be taken such as instructing solicitors to secure payment or issue court proceedings which could incur futher costs and it is signed by someone from the legal department the signiture is that bad it could be Micky Mouse.
I find this letter a bit farcical and I'm probably not the first to receive one :p

You are not the only one - you should find the letter here (maybe listed under a different PPC):
