Gas Fire Issue...

Optimist, it has taken a lot for them to do anything to be honest. There is a manufactures warranty, which was the reason I called them when it packed up. The fire was bought at the end of May, fitted start of June, and was ok until the end of September. We hadn't done anything untoward with the fire.
I'm looking for legalities here of how we stand. I'm not that interested in getting reimbursed for the extra leccy usage, I only want a fully working fire.
If they turn around next friday and say ''no, that's it'' where do we stand?
Is our problem liable to stand up in court, should it go there?
As I haven't seen the guarantee I can not tell you what it covers or if it will stand up in court. You need to read the paperwork as to terms"The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts."

Do you have LPG? Still...the parts are almost universal between different gas fires.Tech says it's not the bog standard one, it needs a differently one apparently...

No, it's mains gas.
I have no doubt that they are trying, the conversations I've had with the technicians boss tell me that he is scratching his head.
But we still don't have a working fire
We live in South London, in a bog standard house, nothing fancy.
This fire is a bog standard, bought off the shelf model. It looked good. It sounded good from the specs. It used to work, now it doesn't.Life is now good

Just keep being very nice with the manufacturers. They are already doing more than they need to legally.0

They are legally obliged to do whatever they have agreed in the manufacturer's guarantee. That's my question, what are they legally obliged to do??

Hi guys,
An update on the fire issue.
The fire has now been repaired and is in full working order. The manufacturer is going to reset the warranty date from the date of the fix.
And yes, there was a very faulty brand new part....
So thank you for all your help and advice, it was very much appreciated :TLife is now good
