    Sorry should have said.
He says job seeking allowance a tthe minute but he is trying to get a sickness allowance if he can fill in the form right. He also gets council tax benefit, housing benefit. I think thats it.

He lost it as he said the people at the benefits place stitched him up cause they dont like him. Said he didnt go, or didnt look for work when he says he did. Thats why he is going on sickness benefit now as i think less hassle.

  • You are still only telling us half the story. People do not get benefits they are entitled to stopped just because they don't like you.

And they don't then decide "oh I'm going on sickness instead then" either. You have to actually be ill (not saying he isn't but it doesn't sound like he's even been assessed by a GP yet)
  • If you read through other threads here, or google ATOS, you will find that it is considerably more difficult to claim sickness benefit than JSA. You should strongly advise him not to rely on getting it - not saying he isn't ill, but there are plenty of people here who really aren't fit for work but who haven't been able to claim

You need to ask your friend exactly why his benefit has been stopped and for how long, what exactly are they saying he hasn't done.

Depression alone is not enough to claim sickness benefit, most people depression is caused because they have little outlook, no money and nothing to fill their time, it is proven that people in work suffer less depression. Stress maybe!!
  • It's not your problem.

And if it's a boyfriend trying this as an excuse to get money off you, then walk away now.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.
