thanks i will let him know that he could go to court if he diesnt like there decision. I will also let him know about the appeal and hardship money.
So he should get money he is entitled to it and needs it to live. I would imagine his sickness money if he gets it should be more money for him and they wont take it off him and force him to do stupid things for it and lie about him to get it off him. Hope not anyway.
what is a wum thread, is that another place to go for advice like CAB?0 -

As a warning, getting sickness benefits such as DLA and ESA will be extremely hard for him (as they are for everyone) he might want to gather any medical evidence of his depression he can. Also DLA isn't awarded for the condition so much as the care needs.
I'd tell him to appeal the JSA decision and provide dates he has attended etc.I SUPPORT CAT RESCUE! Visit Cat Chat to support cat rescue too.

It sounds as if his JSA has been stopped for some reason and they will have notified the council who in turn have stopped his housing benefit
You do not need to receive JSA to receive housing benefit but they will stop the benefit as many people come off JSA to work. He needs to contact them and advise that he has no income and his housing benefit should be reinstated
If he has a note from his doctor he should process his ESA claim but bear in mind after about 13 weeks he will be called for a medical and may be found fit for work so they will stop his ESA (which in turn could mess up the housing benefit again) and tell him to sign on for JSA0 -
I will tell him to get into the council for his house benefit right away, or maybe tomorrow now, and make sure he has seen his doc.

That would be the best thing. With regards his doctor he may also be referred to a MH team, if the doctor feels he is in need of it. Or offered medication to help with the depression.
Yes, meaning this thread could be a wind up.I SUPPORT CAT RESCUE! Visit Cat Chat to support cat rescue too.

wind up, thats a bit harsh.0 -
He needs to get to his nearest One Stop Shop council centre to tell them his income's decreased. It'll help if he can provide evidence of his JSA being stopped but they'll be able to verify with the Jobcentre easily enough, and once they have his rent and Council Tax will be reinstated and backdated.0
