Well had my fibre broadband installed Monday.

Plusnet where always helpful through the process (answering any questions I had), and the BT Openreach chap was very helpful and friendly.

So far no problems with the router (touchwood).

Nice one. Im using plusnet fibre too. Make sure you avoid turning off the modem router as it can reset the speeds for a while. It trains itself so keep going faster until the line cant take anymore. Rebooting can reset that. If you have a problem reboot the router only first before rebooting the modem.

What wireless router did plusnet give you?

The modified Technicolor tg582n, not rebooted it yet (not had a need to). It's been absolutely fine over wireless (my main desktop pc is wired to it direct).

I did have a slightly weird moment just after it was set up where I only got about 10mbps download speeds, but I was getting about 17mbps upload (wired direct). But that seemed to sort itself out after I set up my laptop and xbox 360 on the wireless.

    Very.

One I will say is it's strange having 250gb (will be moving to unlimited on the 28th), is I'm still thinking of the old extra (60gb usage) limits.

Don't know yet, 31st March is our expected date. My Openreach speedtest tells me I can get 80m !! I can only dream of what that will be like :p I will stick with Plusnet for Fibre though, currently just swapped to their unlimited broadband.

Having gone from a miserable 0.5 to a whacking great 32 (and now up to 40) I can tell you it's amazing. Ultra reliable too. I don't have unlimited though because I don't do that much downloading.

Wow, that's some jump. I currently get 4mb which is bearable but up to 80mb and I'm in dreamland.

It's all relative though isn't it. I remember 28k to 56k modem increases, and then 56k dialup to 500kb broadband when it first came out. We all thought that was amazing.

How long before we all want Gigabit Broadband :rotfl:

The service I pay for is 70mbps (AFAIK) but I'm right out in the country at the end of the exchange run so I guess I'm getting the best possible service. I'm more than happy with it as you'll appreciate. Plus the modem supllied by Plusnet overcame all the wireless problems we had with the laptop.

I'd have taken the BT fibre service but because it was so costly with all the deposits and everything I went to Plusnet who deferred all the charges in exchange for a 12 month contract. I've never looked back. :)
