Hi everyone, well the petition looks like its a no go im afraid, anyone that signs the petition can be charged with slander, which is really unfair to the victims. Although im going to get in touch with trading standards online and provide them with a link to this webpage regarding coverlook then they can check it out on here and more than likely will send one of their officers into the studio to check it out for themselves. Any info will be noted on here as to how it goes so keep checking and sorry but everyone will have to keep fighting for their money untill trading standards sorts this problem out so bear with it for now.0

Hi all.
I am afraid it is too late for many posters but at least I will clear it for some others. I can bet my post will be followed by couple of fake "satisfied customers" posting here too ... :rotfl: and not agreeing with me.
Coverlook like ALL other makeover photos studio gets their clients one of these ways:
- ALL that "enter a competition" win, are contacted and can have a session
- an agency is looking for talents - models, dancers etc and will sign you up ... blah blah ... the truth is NO AGENCY ON EARTH CAN GET JOBS FOR HUNDREDS OF NEW CLIENTS A MONTH - after couple of months they would have over 1000 clients the way they sell packages to around 10 people a day!
- you get a voucher from various places online or shopping malls etc at a very low price - but then it only gives you the session - photos will be extra and EXPENSIVE
- when you are already there they ask you to recommend a friend... that then WILL aslo "win the competition"
Then you REALLY have (well most of the time I guess) a free session - make-up, hair, nails, photos ... and SALE
The photos will be most probably very nice ... and higly overpriced.
If you really want to try - remember that you WILL want the photos - that's how it works. If you want to buy some photos - remember - they will go down with the price - what they ask for first they don't even expect you to accept - it's a start of negotiations...
If you really want the photos just hire a photogrpaher privately and have all that with photos that are not same like thousand other people after a quick shoot squeezed in between other clients. It will cost you much less ... even if you are after the experience only then hook up with couple of friends and have it together.0 -

Yep, I had a call yesterday from James at Coverlook (020 7631 0252) telling me that I was one of 8 winners. Free session, drinks, 1 free photo on CD, £30 deposit, etc, etc.
I was kind of tempted to go for it as my wife had a baby recently and would probably appreciate some pampering, but after reading this thread I'm going to steer clear. I've got a bonus coming this month and some other ideas anyway (spa day and a nice meal, probably).0 -
Just a reminder. AVOID this company. See my post above.
Glad to see that this thead is the third item on a google search for this company.0 -
Hi all of you that have tried to gain your money back from COVERLOOK. Well try this information that Trading Standards sent to me today.
The correct channel to register your complaint and to get the consumer advice that you require is through Consumer Direct who can be contacted on 08454 04 05 06.
Alternatively you can go on the consumer direct website click on contact us and then click on get advice, there is a form to fill in but i think this may be useful regarding this payment returned problem. Let me know how you get on please, would love to know!0 -
Hi everyone,
I have received an email from consumer direct, you must get in touch with them regarding any deposit unpaid as they will email you back with a reference number and tell you to write to Coverlook (with proof of postage) stating because you havent received your deposit they are in breach of their contract, if you hear nothing within 10 days of sending the letter you get a phone number in your email with your reference number to contact and they will advise you further, from the email i have sent to consumer direct it has been passed onto Trading Standards so i presume they will investigate it further. So to all who have proof of going to Coverlook and have not yet received their Deposit back believe me get in touch with consumer direct you can do it either on online or by telephone. GOOD LUCK TO ALL. I believe something can be and will be done..Keep me updated on this page!! If everyone complains regarding this matter i think Trading Standards will put a stop to this farce.0 -

You have obviously made a fool of yourself there, Coverlook staff:rotfl:0
