My friend has just fallen for this. :( I warned her, because I had read about dodgy photography companies on here. She got the hump with me, and said that she was only going to buy the one photo anyway....

She has just had a baby and was looking forward to a nice day of pampering, and took her sister along with her new baby. Their appointment was at 3pm and they were kept hanging around for hours with 2 hungry babies, while other people who had arrived after them, went in before them. They didn't get out till 10pm. They ended up paying £700 for 15 photos on a disc because they just wanted to get out of there. The photographs were ok, but nothing special.

I'll try and get more details. I heard this from another friend, because I think she's a bit embarrassed to talk to me because I warned her.
AVOID this company, and any other that are similar. Find a local photographer that will tell you the cost of the photos up front.

Thanks for writing to me. I'm still trying to get my money back... losing hope with every day though..
  • This is a post to beg with anyone who is struggling with getting money refunded from this ridiculous company to send a quick e-mail to Watchdog & Trading Standards lik I've just done!
Also if anybody can get through to them on the phone I would love to know! Have 5 different numbers for them:

    02075804248 - Customer Services
02076371881 - Number originally given to me as contact
    02075803999 - General Enquiries
02076127272 - Last number they actually rang me from, now appears to be disconnected
    07977 4177760 - John Quinn, contact taken from modeljobspro.com

Have a funny feeling that all these phone numbers probably lead to a single phone manned by nobody! But I want my £60 back and I'm going to get it!

    Hi all,
I guess we are not going to get our money back. I'm still phoning them but i lost my hopes. I'll tell you why. I've looked them up as a business - they've been open for two years already and I thought to myself that surelf they have conned and ennoyed quite a few people by now. The question that was nurturing me was: 'How are they getting away with it for so long? Under what law in the UK are they able to con people like us ,first saying that it's a prize and money's fully refundable, then just shutting people out once the monies are taken? As everybody knows I'd phoned consumer direct on 08454 040506 (www.consumerdirect.gov.uk), number given me by the police when I phoned them for advice. The lady officer told me that this issue must be first reported to them and it's up to them if they want to investigate. If they assess it qualifies as criminal offence then action would be taken by the police. I got all hoped up and rung them. Was advised to send Coverlooks a recorded letter reminding them about the refund. That's what I did.I sent Coverlooks a couple of emails as well. Received no response though. I'd found someone who'd sent a recorded letter and never heard from them again) Yesterday I was about to give them a ring but I phoned consumer direct instead asking them the questions that were eating me up (the ones mentioned above) Guess what the answer was!! Companies like them are getting away with it lightly because people don't report them, secondly even if that was a big issue it wouldn't help my individual case or anybody's individual case (means no money back) unless I'd take a legal action. To be honest it's £60.00, taking it to court would cost much more, plus the time and enrgy wasted, I feel I have other priorities at the moment! Feel gutted though! So disappointed! I also asked if there's any organisation that could help folks like us; the answer was: 'No' The issue can be resolved only when taken to court. I feel helpless ...there be something or someone that can help us please. Where is the sense of fairness in people? Maybe you know more...Maybe we could do something together...

Hi from BABYLISS, Can you please please let me know if you got your money back. It's very important to me. Apparently if you want to get you money back you need to contact Consument Direct Gov on 0845404056 (www.consumerdirect.gov.uk) and send Coverlook a recorded letter requesting the refund. I am going to do so. After a certain time they are bound to refund the money if not you have to phone them again to let them know. It's such a con to me. Apparently if it's all reported it's down to consumer direct to assess if it qualifies as a criminal offence and then they can contact the police, etc. This way we can get our deposits back, I believe. Good luck
