Hi, not so far, the manager doesn't pick up the phone, but got through to that so called studio and apparently they're waiting for my bank statement as a prove that I was charged and then the money is going to be refunded as soon as...
we shall wait and see. Thanks again for your advice.

I wouldn't give them any details. Just keep ringing him. He should pick up. If there is anything I can do, let me know. Good luck and keep me informed. I can't believe that they have got the heart to do this to inocent people like ourselves. xx

Yes, that's what I thought to myself, now they are going to know which bank I am with, and etc. I am going to get the bank statement though, only for the day of transaction and I wonder if I can get the bank signing a statement that no money was credited from Coverlook since then. I am going to crosss out all other details with a black marker till I make a whole in the paper! I will follow you to WatchDog too...
well, have to do some work now it's getting late. ( I spend too much time thinking about it too) Will 'speak' to you soon.

This company rang me today and it sounded really genuine but i thought id check it out first on the MSE site. Im so glad i did, thanks guys from saving me being conned by these pathetic companies. Big Thumbs Up!!!!!!

I was phoned last night and told that i had won the competition - i was really chuffed and was quite looking forward to it because i've never had a make-over but i don't really want to go now after reading all this - i know i'm not so stupid as to go and spend £3000 on some photos and that i could just go, have the make-over, hair and photos done and get my free one picture on a cd - but i just don't want to go at all now!!

It's threads like this that help preventing scams and cons.

Just to say Coverlook Studios in Oxford Circus (Mortimer Street) is completely legit! My friends have been there several times on photoshoots we've won through online entries (and half the time us teens enter so many freebies we can never quite remember entering the ones we win!)

The £30 deposit is standard for all shoots but most likely you'll not have it refunded because you'll love the pictures so much you'll put the deposit money towards it! I know there are alot of scams out there but this company is legit!

o and we had really nice service, they provided drinks - and yes you will be kept waiting for hair and makeup but this isn't unusual!

its true James's line is difficult to get through as it tends to be engaged often so call the main line and have them pass on the message - its annoying but persistance is the only guarentee that you get what you pay for!

mmm ive been to this studio on mortimer street and as noted in my previous posts i also was too ripped off, by any chance superstarstorme do you work for that studio on mortimer street because if you do then you wouldnt give it a bad rating would you, i never got my deposit refunded either just 4 pics on a disc, its time this studio business was stopped once and for all. Ok its nice to be pampered but come on do they have to con you along the way? And i was also told i'd get v.i.p tickets to a nightclub, was i given them oh no not a chance on that!! was told to hurry up for the photoshoot, just like a few that have already said, and i agree with babyliss and lil_angel_jae17 they should be stopped so instead of it costing us victims in court ive checked out an online petition site that you can post a petition up on im sure everyone who has posted on this forum would sign it, i know i definitely would! This petition is free but before i open it i have asked if the people that sign the petition can be charged with slander or for the loss of the studios business costs, i will get back to you all as soon as i know anything further, so untill then keep your chins up and keep trying that number.

I agree with Baffy34. But can I say one thing, I aint on here for a slanging match. superstarstorme, you quote us teens, well u cert dont speak like a teen, so idealy you must work for them. We are on here to warn others of scam and cons just like this one to precent this happening to others. At the end of the day, Myself and others cannot afford this to happen to ourselves. Poor Babyliss, been trying for weeks to get her deposit back. It aint fair. I hope that soon rather than later, Watchdog do investigate this company and they get shut down! They deserve it!!

P.S - When have I ever heard of "You have just won a compettition, please pay £3o per person as a depoist! It says it all!! I hate that company. It makes me so angry for people to say that they legit!
