    Morning all.
Haven't been on recently, so need to catch up!
Boxing day we had everyone over, and at 7am Buddy the cat came in covered in motor oil! Seeing as he is mostly white it was awful! Had to catch him for a bath which he hated, and his belly is still awful and his feet. He has a grey head now from washing himself:rotfl: Worse, he had walked through the dining room and left paw prints all over my cream carpet:eek: Turns out meths was the answer followed by carpet shampooing. Then burning the yankee candles to get rid of the smell of meths!:rotfl:
He had also jumped on my bed in the night, and so after washing duvet cover I had to throw it away. Nightmare!

Dishwasher packed up on Christmas Eve, so have a new one coming today.

Must get my nails done tomorrow, they are so long.

Had a great New Years eve, went to a fancy dress party. OH was Santa and I was a Xmas fairy!

FB elacla ds. Good luck with ops xx

    Love to Jools

OH back to work today. He found it very hard getting up this morning!:rotfl:
    Have a good day.

  • Good morning. :hello:

I'm looking for a bit of help to find something on the forums which I'm sure is here - I just can't track it down. :o

Are there crafting threads anywhere? I'm specifically looking for ideas for a first-time card maker; both for supply and projects. Obviously I can find lots of stuff on Google but I usually end up getting most of my information from MSE so I might as well save time and start here. :rotfl:

    Happy new year everyone.

This board is usually the crafting board, they tend to change the name of it over Xmas.

Lovely walk with dogs and kids until,DD got bumped by pooch into a large muddy puddle  cue lots of crying and frantic of stripping off her bottom half clothes which were soaking while we fashioned new items out of stuff we were wearing. Skirts made out of fleeces are now all the rage, especially when combined with over the knee thermal socks :rotfl: thankfully it was end of the walk rather than the start.

Just slurping my tea before I do battle with Aldi.......

  • First day of the rest of my life today (first day of maternity leave on my lonesome).

Hoping to spend this year being a number 1 mum and saving as much as possible so we can afford a better Christmas next year (this year was way too tight for my liking) and maybe even a small family trip in 2014 :)

Today I want to sort through the washing mountain that's built up over the holidays and maybe sort my wardrobe as Pre pregnancy clothes still fill it and hey it's depressing! Lol.

I've spotted some cake kits in the cupboard so ill have a look and see if we have enough eggs for me to make these up so I have something sweet to treat myself on :)

OH and I went for a long (and very muddy) walk yesterday where we met 2 lovely labradors, one of them jumped up me and the poor owner was mortified at the state of my coat and offered to pay to have it dry cleaned, I had to explain that it was like that before the dog got anywhere near me!:D
:rotfl:Something similar happened to me a few months back; I was "walking" with Dave the Yorkie, and this great hairy thing came hurtling out of the bure, soaking wet, and tried to leap on my lap on the mobility scooter. The owner came haring up, yelling his lungs out at the <suddenly deaf> dog; poor chap couldn't apologise enough! I was laughing my socks off, trying to reassure him that I was wearing my dog-walking gear, so I'm prepared if it gets dirty, and as Dave was unharmed, there was no problem (poor Dave's only titchy).

:rotfl: Ah.... so we have two tales depicting the joys of Labrador ownership. Hope DD is OK, Bitsy.:o

    Afternoon all
I'm late getting online today, dropped hubby at work at 10, he's doing 10 'til 6 this week, went to the bank to pay a cheque in, to the butchers for bacon & to the chemist for cold remedy's as hubby still not well, I have it too, but no where near as bad. I took some baking trays round to DD2 & took some donuts with me for a treat. I'm now home, DW & WM both chugging away & I have a small amount of ironing to do. I might rearrange the freezer contents too.
Scratch that, the wool I ordered from Kemps has just arrived, lol. I need to find out how to use it as the instructions are all in German!
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

On our way back home, over half way now on the M1, 97 miles to go. Drizzly which is a PITA, hopefully will be dry when we get home to get the caravan back on the drive and in its place. No more outings until March, as we are back to find some sun in under three weeks.
So looks like we could have a couple of dry drys coming up and will have to get the WM working overtime, with our bed, DS's bedding from their stay over Christmas and the caravan bedding, plus all the towels, let alone the clothes, as I left a wash basket full before we left for NY.
Also want to try to eat out of freezer cupboards and fridge, might end up putting my listings up here for ideas. So listing them is on my list also. Decs will come down over the weekend, so will also have a spring clean next week.
FB & Elacla's DS hope the procedures go well today.
Jools thinking of you, glad you have a bolt hole to escape to.
Well have managed to a pod the Lurgy's so far (fingers crossed), since we have been spending more time in the sun, and a avoiding aeroplanes by driving each way, we seems to have escaped the worst if them. Granted my Cod Liver Oil and Multi Vitamin tabs daily in winter may also help too.
Syke has been very good staying in the 'van when we are going out, and has taken to travelling like a duck to water, think I need to sort out a set of clothes for the dog walking over here, though we are (trying!!) to get her to sit down for someone to make a fuss of her.
I ordered some new bun tins from Amazon, which might be have arrived when we get back, I am sure we put some away in the loft when we redid the kitchen over 10 years ago, so have decided to bite the bullet and get what I want!
((Hugs)), spoons, hi5's and Positive Vibes all round, Take care all, only 79 miles left now. DG

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?
  • DH has gone back to work today and silly beggar left his lunch on the counter rolleye0014.gif he should be home in half an hour so he can have it then.
Spent all morning taking the tree and other bits down, just waiting for DS to bring the boxes down so that it can all go straight in the loft.
Dinner tonight is leftover Gammon with salad and other bits left from yesterday.

LW oh dear that lab sounds much like Luna. Problem is when she was a puppy she was obviously so cute people rushed over to fuss her. Kinda set a precedent in her head that she can take off and see people and unfortunately jump up at them :o:o:o DD is fine ;)

Peanut enjoy your maternity leave :)
