    A mini Santas Challenge

As we missed the May challenge (sorry holiday and school etc, Miss Hoodie was very worried that there was no cleaning challenge!! So said we'd do a mini challenge

    =Christmas=
Don't panic - not asking you to write cards yet!! - but if your anything like our household theres about 6 different address books all half filled in - time to check the address books and make sure all address are up to date.
need to go through mine and add the addresses that are pushed in the front on little post its and bits of paper:o

    = Make someones day=
Make someones day, is their an old friend or a relative that you've been meaning to ring, or write a letter to, even if its just a 10 minute call or a I've been thinking about you, sure to them it be worth the world.
ive got 4 people i need to do that for, And youve just reminded me i need a god fathers card making for DS2 godfather, got to ring my parents sort out dads fathers day press with step mum, ring my friend who ive not spoken to for months:o just realised its my nephews birthday today so text sent to sister. id done the pres a while ago, but like to acknowledge the day. text back he loved his pressie (DVD and popcorn):T

    Take a step back=
We're half way through the year, so take a step back, give yourselves a pat on the back and say well done and have ourselves a little treat - but as always the catch - it has to be free - whether that is a long soak in the bath with a scented candle, half an hr peace and quiet with a book, or a long walk with the dog.
im slowly working my way through the books wool cross stitch stuff ive amassed over the years, with your permission i had a lazy day yesterday and finished reading The Help one that had been on the shelf for ages i think i paid 50p for it at a carboot but its been there so long that doesnt really count any more, its going to be passed on to a work friend then will go to my mum one of her friends then end up at a charity shop so it will get well read.

That special part we all love!!!

Hidden spaces - sure we all have those little areas in the house where everything gets chucked in and the door shut - so hit that area and gut it, sure there be items that you forget they were there. if in doubt send a man in first just incase there is any spiders!!!!
the pressie cupboard needs sorting out and the cupboard under the stairs where crafty stash is kept. im working through the attic at the mo trying to cull unwanted stuff, cleared loads CS have had regular visits and the recycling men cant believe theyres much left in our house i heard one of them say that last week when they took another 16 bags of paper/cardboard away:rotfl:
oh i havent even scratched the surface yet:p

    Hallo!
Can I join you in this challenge? Last year I tried to save 2012£ towards gifts, but I lost my password and just gave up keeping track.
This year I set a maximum budget of 400£ for Cristmas presents (for 10 adults and 2 young children). I hope to gain the whole amount from surveys, swagbucks, cashback and other small savings, and hopefully be able to spend far less than that.
I'm thinking about some hm presents, maybe cookbooks for the ladies and some plush toys for the children. As usual the men are the difficult ones :(

Susan - sorry to hear about the furneral, hope everything went ok.

Rufus - sorry the craft fair didn't do well, fingers crossed for the next one. Your going great guns with the book bags. Glad the wedding went ok, the outfit looked lovely, cant believe it came round so quick.

Mrs MoneyPenny - that was a bargain and a half for the Santuary set.

Elimum - A big welcome, that sounds a fab budget for xmas, sure we can save you some of that between us all.
Seeing you said recipie books, - this may sound mad, but when was in Home Bargains today they had a write your own recipie book in, think was 59p, looked really nice, - and maybe do a foodie hamper.

Fatblackandwhite - I got some of that wrapping paper last xmas from Halfcost - bit narrower than standard roll but for £1 you get really good value for money and its not too bad quality.

Good news, - we went to visit the new school, it was amazing, Miss Hoodie asked could she go there, the head said YES......... we start on Thursday.... shes still in yr 5, - settle before the main yr next yr for her SATs.

It was like a breath of fresh air, - big weight off shoulders - mean now have to tidy up and put holiday stuff away!! xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

apparently his wife got it off someone for christmas but didnt like it, if that was true couldnt understand why the £25 tag was still fixed on the bottom of the label.

Thank you, mum2one, I'll check that out.
Meanwhile, probably it's not news for you, but I found at MrT some e-book case on offer (RRP12£+) for 2-3£ there where both girly colour and milder ones on offer, I bought one in blak faux leather for my hubby as a present for father's day (waiting for Xmas wasn't an option, he would have bought it by himself otherwise), still a useful present for the price of a Father's day card.:D
I might go back and check if there are phone and tablet cases too, for my father's and my bil Xmas presents.
